Description Created in collaboration with Bobye here on DA as a visual guide for the Star Trek: Theurgy writers. The raw base image was made by Bobye2  for Star Trek: Theurgy in Zoner Calisto 4, and then expanded and edited by yours truly in Zoner Calisto 5 and Photoshop CS5.

UPDATE: I love the images in Star Trek Fact Files showing the interiors of the ships on the shows, and I noticed how they conveyed a sense of scale by adding officers to them. With this in mind, I have now done so for our own interior images as well, and along with that, I have also hidden a few easter eggs for you all to find.  Some of Bobye's interior details are unknown to me, but I have identified 3D warehouse models from Colin E and Borgman so far.

Other cut-away interiors:

Main Forum page: Star Trek: Theurgy

Star Trek: Theurgy is kind of a progressive novel, composed of large long-lasting story arcs that can go on through several Episodes, as well as the more common plots produced by character interaction. All of this is written cohesively by the writers, edited and corrected by the group and the Game Moderator to assure a consolidated storyline. Other terms for this kind of community are "sim" or "play-by-post/forum roleplaying".

"What kind of writers are we looking for at Star Trek: Theurgy?"

We're looking for good, descriptive and creative writers that can handle English well. You should also know enough about the Star Trek Universe to be able to partake in creating intense, interesting storylines together with the other writers. We are a very literate group, with a minimum posting requirement of 200 words per post, and the commitment to the story is long-term. We have been running the story actively for five years, and we will continue for many years to come. Therefore, we are not interested in casual, brief commitments, but something that will last for many years.

"What's the nature of the story?"

Star Trek: Theurgy is a detailed, quite dark, story-driven and long-term roleplay and while it's rated 18+, it is not some shoe-horned excuse to write Star Trek smut scenes. If that's what you are looking for, you can look elsewhere since you'll be really disappointed.

It is not expected of any of our writers to detail the intimate relations of their characters with others, even if it's allowed. Several writers among us have an aversion to writing graphic sexual scenes, so if that's not what you care for, then that's no problem at all. The story revolves around a ship and a crew in dire straits, against impossible odds, and with a lot of intrigue and mystery to it. We just don't enforce limits on what you care to write, like explicit scenes of violence or intimacy, as long you adhere to our General Rules  and all writers consent to the specific scene their characters are in.

"How do I join the story?"

This page should serve quite well for an answer, but it's recommended you contact the Game Moderator if you have any questions: Joining the Crew.

Wow! This is a big upgrade from galaxy class starships or sovereign class. I'm almost done watching every star trek series. DS9 is the final series. Currently in season 6. Its going to be sad finishing the golden age of the series. By the way is this in the 25th century?

Now that comes across as a realistic sized sickbay. I know they had to be small for the show but the sickbays always seemed really small. The Enterprise D had a tiny sickbay compared to its 1000+ crew roster.

Fully-fledged mini-hospital, just like I imagine how about every full and proper Starfleet ship is equipped.  Starfleet ships are meant to go some truly dangerous places, and personnel at some point are going to get seriously hurt, or even killed, at times, so the ship's CMO NEEDS to have fully-equipped and proper medical facilities to care for the wounded when the 'bad things' happen.  Nice work on this!

The CMO's office meanwhile, I'm assuming is what also serves as the 'Clinic Exam Room' right?  That's the only thing not really marked here, is where check-ups and similar examinations are performed.

Surgical suites works for that too, but yeah.

Huh.  Never thought of that.  But then again, this being the 23rd and 24th Century, by then the medical profession has very likely developed quick and VERY FAST ways of sanitization and sterilization that would enable such dual use, especially under emergency room conditions, allowing what had just been used as a clinical exam room to be rapidly sterilized for emergency surgery in a matter of seconds.  I myself have been through several surgeries and so am more familiar with the practices when a dedicated surgical suite is available.  But yes, on a Starship, where optimal use of space is everything, making the surgical suites double as extra clinical exam rooms makes sense, especially when said clinical exams are minor ones that nurses/CPA's (Certified Physician Assistants) can do that don't need the CMO.

So, who's the CMO?  I hope it's the one you based on Hilary Duff.  She's hot!

Patriot1776 In reply to TheMightyGorga [2018-10-22 21:50:14 +0000 UTC]

Miniature hospital.  I've been in way too many hospitals over my lifetime and I know what generally is supposed to be in them, and this is a fully-equipped mini-hospital, what you NEED when going on Away Team missions out in the middle of nowhere and the Away Team gets ambushed by a number of dangerous hostiles!  You're gonna have personnel with more serious problems than scrapes and bruises, stuff that requires an emergency-room level of care and then the gradual recovery. ^^

Heh, yeah, considering that the canon Sickbay for a Prometheus-class ship looks like this:

...with only a single biobed, some addendum was required.
