Kakuzu has come SUCH a long way from the begining of the story. Remember that? He was too scared and shy to even speak words to Hidan.... and now, I think he's slightly more confident, and has more faith in himself.... because of Hidan telling him he never thought he was a monster, and always thought he was the smart one. Although... Kakuzu still has his shy relapses...

I doubt, if Kakuzu still had the amount of confidence he had when the story first started, He would of been too shy to ask Ryu-Sensei if he could stay the night. He would of just let stuff happen.... He took a little control of the situation, and because of that... he was able to apologize to Hidan.
