There's more shading on the left side of her body, but not more shading on that side of her hair - don't you think you should shade the overall hair too?

One question to a problem I haven't figured out or probably missed. Do you use a new layer per color

nah, just one layer for all of the colors.
sometimes I'll separate the hair onto a layer of it's own though

As usual, your overall coloring technique is excellent. Hard to believe I was giving you pointers when I first met you on DA--you've grown so far that it makes me a little jealous!
I do have one suggestion about the hair, though: remember to treat the top of the head as a round, three-dimensional object. The hair in this tutorial looks flat when compared to the face, because the shadows don't follow the same lighting. All it'll take to correct that is darkening the hair a little on the left side.

this is just too sweet. I like your comments very much, they're very funny. But even with this tutorial, you need a very steady mouse-hand to get those perfect strokes of hair, it's just amazing how you managed to do that.
