Soooooo, I am making a game ( personal project for once), and this is the first major environmental asset I painted for it. The game is happening in a small strange town and a lot of it is about exploring the town, many objects will be interactable in one way or another. Each character will need a house of some sort and the character who lives in this one is this adorable old lady:

yeah, objects with a bit of age are not only more interesting to look at, but also more interesting to draw than new shiny stuff in most cases

I'm not exactly sure, as I sketched it a couple weeks ago together with a lot of other stuff and drew it over multiple days. I would say it would be two or three days of decent work if I add it up.

Interesting, it makes sense. I always feel like my art should take me a lot less time to make, but in reality I can hear that I'm not really slower than anyone else. Just feels that way when you don't really talk much with other artists, I guess.

It always takes a lot of time. If I'm doing something I'm super used to, like towards the end of a game where I have to make 50 assets in the same style, than of course I get faster towards the end. But I am trying to learn and push myself here and that is bound to take more time
