This is just beautiful. Is just as that other pic with the same mofit, but in a lighter mood. I think Astro seems about 10 to 12 years old in both Old and New anime, which I like in the new though since it has cooler stuff as the Doki program.

Astro must to have around 50 or 60 years old, after all, he was the first, the one who begun all what we see about anime and manga. Long live Osamu Tezuka, Long Live Astroboy.

age depends on what you're watching. The Manga says he's 12, the 2003 series says he's nine. And I think the 80s series says he's nine too. I don't know what the 0s series says. BTW, AAAWWW to your picture. *hugs Astro* ^_^

Dunno how old he is, in the comics he's died and been born again, so it's kind of an unanswerable question.
This is probably one of my favorite pictures of Astro that I've ever seen. It captures the style, but moreso the heart.
I think his creator Tezuka would probably be astounded by your rendering if he were still alive.

I just a-stumbled upon this randomly, but lemme just say great work! I like the colour scheme especially. Anyway, I have an unhealthy if not insane obsession with Astroboy, so lemme give some anwers on the issue of his age. Dr. Tenma's son Tobio was killed in a truck crash at age 9, and he modeled Astroboy off Tobio, so it could be argued that he is nine. However, Astroboy was published on the 7th of April 1953, so the character is 51 years old as of today. Additionally, in the series, Astro is supposed to have been created in the year 2003, which makes him one year old by our time frame.

Well, technically he's less than a year old. He was just created when the series opened (if I'm correct).
I really like how you used a soft lighting technique here. You blended the highlight colors and the shadow and background colors beautifully. Very nice job.

Astro boy! i haven't seen the anime yet, but the new manga comic book is pretty good. and i did seen some short anime clip on the PS2 game, it is very good how much they push today anime style on astro boy
