Is it done? So much black on this one...my hand...it aches.
I did a weeks worth of work in two days and my scanner gave me a big 'fuck you' when I scanned it. Spent half the morning fixing what it broke and I still don't like how it turned out.
I guess I could consider it a practice run for the next time I draw him.
Anyway, Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez for your viewing pleasure.
Mostly for since she loves him so damn much and helped me out with it.

how do you maintain that constant smoothness while you shade?.. what technique is most appealing in order to achieve such intensity?

I understand, but I have tried that since its the most common form of technique. Doesn't it make it too smooth to the point of being semi realistic instead of full blown realism?. Do you smudge it initially and then go over it with pencil, leaving it at that?

I try not to press too hard when I blend, but sometimes it'll smooth too much. But it doesn't really matter since I go back and forth between smoothing and shading and any area that I think is too smooth gets an extra layer of grit at the end.
I also use my fingers for blending about as much as tissue. I usually like my results better when fingers are involved. I get lectured if I tell people that though.
