Description Every year for Christmas, I make my mom a picture of whatever she wants. Usually she requests an animal of some sort in various settings, this year she wanted our border collie, Meg, in her element. Sooo here she is.

Done in Prismacolor colored pencils, took about twenty minutes to sketch, a day to ink, and several days to color with frequent breaks in between. I'm pleased with how it came out.

The scanner clipped off a little at the edges, but the colors aren't too mangled, happily.

Forgot to ask, did you use Prisma watercolours? This looks like watercolour in places.

Aww! This reminds me of one of our dogs, Dog (we weren't planning on keeping him. >.<;; ). He's nearly 100% border collie (maybe even full, but his nose seems a little long), and this captures their attitude perfectly!
I love border collies; they're such energetic and fun-loving dogs. ^_^

here's the thing; typically artists are either really really good at real media and okay or pretty good with digital, or vice versa. you, however, seem to have completely and utterly forced both medias into crying-uke submission.

the colors are blended so beautifully without that look of having been burnished to death with a white prismacolor pencil. My favorite part is the closeup of Meg;s head, and especially her ear. i do not understand your lineart skills, thusly i fear them. FEAR THEM.

i think you should kniw that i actually look forward to your yearly christmas presentr to your mom. for serious.

*Loves border collies, and loves lambs even more* x3 *So naturally, loves this picture!*
You get so many bonus points for drawing sheep. <3 And many more for being able to draw really fantabulous realism pictures. x3 With traditional media, no less!

...huh? Yes they do. I've been working with working border collies for a couple of years, over thirty to forty dogs and they've all had their tails.

Are you thinking of a different breed?

This is beautiful and well thought out. The proportions all feel real, and the setting looks great! The perspective is an amazing angle and the landscape feels touchably real.

I think that is really quite beautiful. What kind of prismas do you have? I have the watercolor pencils, they're really nice...they allow me to intermix media, and not have to buy extras, haha.
