Description
Every year I draw something for my mom for Christmas in realmedia, whatever she requests. This year she asked for a deer and a fawn in a field with some trees in the background. Easy enough!It occurs to me that I'm getting a little too comfortable in my style and should do some more realism exercises. I'm capable of it, but it's more work. While I'm happy with this, it still is rather cartoony. Faster and easier, but...meh.
I dunno. Any art is progress, I suppose! Prismacolor markers and pencils, and a tiiiiiny bit of white acrylic.

It looks like those middleground trees and the deer are paper cutouts and have been stuck onto it. Which is awesome.

It's still a very quaint little scene, and it all fits together very well. I need to work on my backgrounds so they'll fit together with the figures like everything does here.

I am trying to draw a little realism too. It can be challenging and fun but you begin to notice a lot of good features and develop new tricks and techniques ^^
