edit: I didn't do anything to the actual colouring, but I did add more shadows which was something that was bugging me a lot. It's not evident straight away but if you look at this animated gif I think you'll understand the difference: [link]Sorry, sorry for the rushed job, I know it's sloppy and everything but I HAD to get this out of my head onto the screen or else I wouldn't get any work done today! Now I'll be a good girl and go draw up a lesson plan instead...
This concept, and the title, came from Slipknot's Vermillion Pt 2, which I recommend that all of you find and listen to. How many of you have a pet creation you love? How many of you have never wished you had God's power of creation?

The song itself is such a contrast to Slipknot's song

Yeah, it is pretty different from Slipknot's usual work. It sounds more like something Stone Sour would do.
Still, it makes an interesting contrast to Vermilion pt 1.

Indeed, vermillion pt 1 is more angry, and frustration that he finally realizes that the girl is fake. he feels insecure that he put so much trust, I think, into a girl that was not who he thought she was.
Then pt 2 is more of the sad reality that she is who he thought she was. She isn't real and that all she is, or at least his image of her, is a figment of his imagination. It's that reality that makes the difference in part 2.

Ahhhh, god, I identify with this so much >.< I spent a lot of my life creating people in writing and art, and wishing I could make them real....except I got lucky, and one of them did turn real =^_^= The execution on this is lovely; it's hard to manage "sad" without "overly angsty", but this does it, and both the girl-who-isn't-real and the rest of the scene are tastefully done. The sketchiness and soft colors are absolutely beautiful!

Thanks, I quite liked the way this turned out too since I hadn't really planned on it a lot. But the emotion in the song drove me to finish it, and good thing I did too, or else I know I wouldn't have been able to do it another day.

Beautiful and something an artist can really relate to. I remember how badly I wanted to bring "her" to life. She was my strength... I remember how the obsession grew and then I lost sight of who "I" was. Now everything's reversed, and it is "she" who is wanting to bring back the real "me". Wow that made absolutely no sense so I'll stop yapping now. ._.;
