This has finally been completed after being a sketch for about two weeks. I painted and coloured this while I was up in the bush/beach.Oooooooooookay! This is the battle between Morzan's dragon and Morzan (which he is not visible) and Saphira and Brom when he was younger.
I wanted to make Brom's Saphira a different shade of blue to Eragon's Saphira. And I think she came out looking okay.
The background took me the longest I think. I wanted to make it look as though the ground below was zipping past, so I hop it gives off that effect

0.4 black fineliner for the outlines
Windsor & Newton watercolours
PrismColour colouring pencils

Yeah well I wasn't really trying to focus on detailing Brom I wanted to keep the main focus on Saphira and Morzan's dragon

i think in the book it says something about them been the same colour scale wise... been awhile

Yes the swords that were forged for the DragonRiders were forged in the same colour to match their dragons scales.
But Brom had the ring from the queen instead

acualy brom had a blue sword name unknown but he lost it in a fight with morzan or one of the other riders, fell into a forest and was never recovered...

to be honest, I read Brisingr half way through and got lost so I had to read Eragon and Eldest all over again, I'm probably nearly 1/4 through Brisingr now DX

Yeah I got a few reactions that people thought it was Eragon and Murtagh. That was originally the plan but I liked the idea of the old Dragon Riders. so heheheheh.

I know Morzan wouldn't be reluctant hehehe. It was aimed to be through Brom and Saphira's eyes because Morzan and Brom used to be good friends before Galbatorix got his claws into Morzan D:

Yeah Brom is an awesome character and I've always wondered about him when he was younger with his Saphira.
Well Brom's gewey insignia is on his right hand, so I figured he would sword fight with his left hand and use magic with his right

excellent! I love this. Great use of color. I like how u made Saphire I a different shade, it makes it easier to tell them a part with stuff. I always pictured them the same shade and it bothered me, so now i can picture it this way and it'll b better!!

The slight texture takes away from the clarity of this piece, but it still conveys much talent on your part.
I appreciate that you drew Saphira's underside. Not many people do that; everyone focuses on the back.
It is unfortunate you could not include Morzan, but you have depicted his dragon well.

Yeah the waterpaper isn't the best for colour pencils, but I like combining the mediums
Yeah, I love to draw dragons' undersides. makes it interesting and gives a look of what different people depict them looking like. hehehe
