Description So the Premium Members group is having a Valentine's contest of sorts, and I really liked the prompt, which was to include honey, almonds, and a color that makes you hungry (I have to say I didn't believe this was possible...but after working on this picture I KNOW THAT OCHRE AND CRAVING PEANUT BUTTER ARE LINKED). I really thought it was an interesting way of having us portray ideas of love, especially because I really feel honey is the perfect imagery for it. Honey is messy but guidable, golden but not material like money, warm, sweet, comes from nature, and somewhat mysterious. And I like the idea of drizzling a trail of honey over things to make them beautiful. I really feel like love works in that way. I also wanted this to be love in general, not relationship specific.

Also, I feel like the warm golden colors really portray that feeling of being in love. Everything just seems inviting and happy and eternal but close to you. It's beautiful.

It was also fun to try a different genre and style than I usually do. I really liked focusing on color and form and I think I'd like to do more still life.

Liked the way it's presented... the way its drawn and the colors and the lighter tones for the love all gives a fairy tale book illustration good feel...

This is my favorite of your recent additions, perhaps because it doesn't have people in it and is more like something I would photograph. Maybe it's the combination of fast texture and flat stillness. Or it could be the colors. Really though, I think it's the mystery of it all: it leaves so much the imagination without being too abstract.

I also am really, really glad this is getting such a good reception. I definitely feel more attached to this piece than my other new ones. I think you put the effect into words better than I can, and I also think I am going to try and do some more in this style.

Wow, you really put a lot of thought into this. :3 It's a really wonderful concept, and I like it! The shading on the almonds is very well done, and I love how the honey kinda glows. The warm color is really inviting I think.

Hun this is just a very unique portrayal of love. The colours really show warmth, and you also get that feeling of sweetness on the tip of your tongue when you look at the honey drizzling in the jar.
