Description Finally got this bit coloured! I'm not really good with colouring bioluminescence by hand, but I hope the orange markings look okay. The eye is also supposed to glow, too.

I was thinking of housing symbiotic photosynthetic bacteria/micro-plants inside the spines, but I was thinking of having the worm's own tissues with chloroplasts instead. Not sure! But anyways, yes.

Thank you!

Speaking of colours, my scanner sure enjoys putting those blue blotches everywhere.

What blue blotches?

Oh, maybe it's too light to see on your screen, but my scanner always puts blue streaks on the backgrounds of my drawings. D: There's some near the bottom of the pic.

Very nice!
Sorry I haven't done the whole science talk thing... I haven't been sleeping well, and between that and college my mind is all fried.

Haha, no prob! Just as long as the outer structure on the full body pic looks okay, all is good. Lol!

i think having symbiotic creatures in the spines would be really unique
especially since it has that almost termite-hive look
it looks like something would live there naturally on a creature anyway, like parasites or whatever
maybe have a melding of the two ideas and have some kind of lichen growth all across its back as a result of photosynthetic tissue growing to be closer to the sun, but still have the bacteria live in the spines?
and lichen would go with the color scheme better than moss..
i dunno xD

Perhaps! Maybe when I draw a more close-up view and finish the diagrams for the spines I might draw a lichen-like texture in.

The spines are collapsible and partially able to deflate when burrowing, but they are raised above ground during the day while the worm is at rest to gain extra nutrients. I was considering having bacteria or something, but I'm also wondering if the worm's own cells could have chloroplasts in that area? Because I believe some species of Protists can be either autotrophic or heterotrophic and not need cell walls... I'll have to do some more reading. Because if the worm's own tissues can photosynthesize instead of having bacteria, I bet there'd be less complications.

Dunno!
