Description
At first glance, this creature, Opthalmoscorpio mormo of Palao, appears identical to an average Terran scorpion. However, while the "scorpions" of Tlaquanaru may bear a superficial resemblence to Terran scorpions, the similarities are few and far between. For example, Opthalmoscorpio has fairly good eyesight, as denoted by its large eyes. All Tlaquanaran scorpions are hermaphrodites, and the "stinger" is in fact, a nonvenomous ovidepositor, though they are not hesitant to stab with it if held against their will.

Here, O. mormo has caught a ponerchelonid, Myxotriton palao, and has begun eating it.
