Description Name: Titan's Hobbyhorse, "Elephantaroo"
Species: Megamacropus elephas
Notes: The Titan's hobbyhorse is one of the largest land animals indigenous to Busceterria. This monstrous cryptothere grazes on grass. The eggs and young are incubated and nursed, respectively, in the female's pouch. While these elephant-sized animals either graze or search for suitable fodder almost every waking moment, they are actually very alert animals. Many naturalists have been gravely injured when they discover the fact that Megamacropus dislike strange creatures moving into their blindspots, or worse yet, approaching the opening of a female's pouch.

Name: Aardhagedis, Aardvark monitor
Species: Orycterosaurus major
Notes: This fearsome predator is rarely found above ground. It preys exclusively on burrowing mammals, including several species of burrowing cryptothere. The Titan's Hobbyhorse cow here is unperturbed by the aardhagedis' presence if only because her joey is over twice its weight upon leaving the pouch. That, and if threatened above ground, it immediately burrows into the ground while throwing up a huge cloud of dirt and dust.

No, not at all. Β Its smaller ancestors were, though.

I like the way you depicted the tree bark--I'll have to incorporate that into my own drawings

The lineart is essentially just scribbling in line with the shape of the tree, the coloring is (in PS) paintbrush set at dissolve, then blur.

The elephantaroo is a very interesting concept. *thumbs up*
I have a soft-spot for super-sized marsupialesque animals...

The Hobbyhorse is my attempt to visualize a mammalian Iguanodon
