Description 's First Place prize art for winning the Mondo Coloring Contest .

It's Ithilwen and Muggles--characters from her book--looking epic about to face something. I hope you like it!

Once again my hate for backgrounds reared up. I wanted to give it a bit of an eerie/mystical look to little success. Oh well, I do really like how the characters came out.

I'm also no good at weapons, so I apologize if they look more crude than elegant. Sorry Pepper!

Pepper's on a Once Upon a Time kick so she wanted Muggles to resemble Emma Swan. I think that, at least, I captured pretty well

Beautiful job! What a lovely prize for Pepper. The detail is great, and the expressions are delicate but very clear. The freckles are a nice touch, and the angle is fantastic!
Beautiful painting, this is.

Thank you very much! I was delighted by how much Pepper loved it.
You know, I expected that 'fantstic angle' to give me a lot more trouble than it did. I think I lucked out with how everything fell into place

Ah, it's an awesome feeling to get glorious approval from the one who's receiving a gift. Anyway, yeah, I'm so afraid of angles. I know zip of anatomy, let alone perspective. So I always admire good three-dimensionality on paintings like this one. I still think skill had something to do with it, LOL.

Well to me your lighting always looks great. The only lighting I know how to do is from manipulating layers. I can't really paint - I wouldn't know what to do! It's all an illusion of layers.

OH.MY.GOSH! OMGOSH! OMGOSH! This is just... just... so literally, yesterday I giggled and squealed outloud and then I started dancing my way towards the stairs and almost fell down them!! this is just way to perfect, Avanna! EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!!

YOU.GOT...everylittledetailsoperfect about them! IThilwen's red cloack, her hair clip, her wand/wandsheath! the sword shape!! her bracelets!! the fact that she's left handed! and the STRIPES!! and that perfect... PERFECT slightly messy/cute hair!

and seeing them in your glorious style... together! THEY ARE GONNA TAKE ON THE WORLD! YEAH BABY!!!! and the detail on the belt buckle! I recognize THAT!

And the green mist!! Can I tell you how much I love the background?!?!?!?! you just did this SO perfect!! I'm so happy now and ever time I look at this it makes me even happier than before!

Oh, I think Muggles' weapon looks PERFECT! She even has a red ribbon on it! there is NOTHING lacking OR wanting about this pic. It is PERFECTION itself..

You are SO WELCOME! Pepper, I really had a blast drawing this. It was a great request and, even better, I'm so happy it got the reaction it did out of you. I'm really just stunned and elated right now that you love it so much! I can't believe how much of it you liked... AND that you recognized the belt-buckle detail. I wanted to add a little tidbit like that represented all those lovely celtic designs you did.

You really like the cloak so much!? Wow! Well of course you can use it. Actually, now that I know you're cool with the axe, my one thing I regret about this picture is that I think I made her cloak too short. Her legs might get cold!

That print has been approved! I don't think I've ever done a print before. This'll be an adventure. Thanks for loving this so much!
