Description
Mako ran so fast that Tenzin couldn't keep up with him. "Mako wait!" Tenzin would yell, but Mako didn't listen. "Korra!" Mako yelled over and over again. Mako was so out of breath that he stopped running. He looked up at the sky. "KORRA!!!" he screamed at the top of his lungs. He put his head down in defeat, "Korra…" he whispered as a single tear dripped down his face.
    Suddenly, Mako herd cheering. It was coming from a building very close to him. Mako also herd Tenzin, but he didn't care about that.
   Mako walked towards the building where the sound came from. He looked in a little window, and there she was. Korra. Her hands chained to a wall so she would sit upright. She was knocked out and very bloody. Two chi-blockers took turns hurting her. One with a whip and one with those equalist gloves. Mako watched in horror as his best friend got beaten, but at this moment no more was she just a friend. Mako didn't know what he would do without her, he finally realized that he loves her. With this love for her found, he also found even more hatred for the equalists. He became very angry, he couldn't wait for Tenzin to come help him. So Mako shot lighting through the window and jump inside.
   All the chi-blockers stared at him, but he was so mad that they didn't stand a chance. All of them ran away like to cowards they are, Amon was no where to be found.
   Mako turned around. "Korra!" he screamed and he ran to her aid. He knelt down beside her, "Korra…" he whispered, she opened her eyes slightly "Mako?" she said weakly the she winced in pain. "I'm here Korra." Mako knew that Korra wouldn't last much longer without medical attention. He picked her up and carried her outside.
    Mako ran, no sprinted. He could feel Korra breathing but it was very faint. Mako then saw Tenzin ridding Naga. "What happened?" asked Tenzin.
"Korra is hurt, badly!" answered Mako. He put Korra on Naga then jumped on. Tenzin jumped off and Mako looked at him. "What are you doing?" asked Mako.
"I'm going to get Ugi. Take Korra to my mother, she'll know what to do." Said Tenzin. Mako didn't object. He was thankful that Katara was visiting. He remembered Korra saying that shes the best healer in the world. With Korra hurt this bad, she'll need the best of the best.
   Naga must have known something was wrong, because she ran her fastest just like Mako did. Once they got to the dock Naga knew there was no time to wait for a boat, she just jumped in the water and swam.
   They finally got to the island. Mako hoped off of Naga and picked up Korra. He ran for the door and kicked it open. "Help! I need help!" he yelled. For some reason everyone was up, they all jumped at the sound of Mako's voice. They all came rushing to him. "What happened?" asked Katara.
"She got beat up real bad." Answered Mako.
"Come with me." Said Katara. Mako followed her into a tent set up outside. Katara came to heal some people from the war so she put up a healing tent. Mako walked inside and put Korra on a mat.
"Wait outside please. Pema I might need your help." Said Katara. Mako didn't want to wait outside, he wanted to be in there with her. Making sure the she was alright, but Katara is the best so he does as he's told.
    A few hours pass, it's about 1:00 AM. Everyone is asleep except Mako and Tenzin. Mako said over and over in his head 'please let her be okay. Please don't die.'
    After about ten minutes, Katara walks out of the tent. She doesn't have the look of good news either. Tenzin looks at her and says "she's gone isn't she?" Katara nods. Mako just has a blank expression on his face. "She's….. dead?" said Mako confused. "Yes Mako, she's gone. I'm sorry there was nothing I could do." Katara said with tears in her eyes. Mako just stared at her in disbelief. 'How could she be dead?' mako thought to himself 'she had only been gone a few minutes.' Katara finally said to him "you can go see her if you want." Mako nodded and walked into the tent that she was in. he looked down at Korra's lifeless body. He knelt down beside it and whispered "what the heck were you thinking?" He grabbed her hand and held it to his forehead. Tears started spilling out of his eyes. "No… You can't be gone. Please Korra… I love you."
   Those three little words must have been magical, because as Mako started to walk away her herd Korra whisper weakly "I love you to." He turned around in shock. Was she really alive? Yes she was. He knelt back down and kissed her. Once he pulled back, Korra looked into his eyes and saw a mix of sadness and happiness. He hugged her and she laid her head on his chest. Korra then knew she would be ok.
