After hanging up with his uncle, Yuzu flopped on his bedroom floor in defeat. Sure, he got the advice he needed but...STILL! THE ONE DAY HE HAD TO NOT GIVE A DAMN ON HOW HE LOOKED AND GOD DECIDED TO SEND AN ABSOLUTE HOTTIE HIS WAY!

"Do you want me to ask or do you want to wallow in your misery alone?" Yosenabe inquired of his grandson, standing in the doorway. They shared a room after all.

"You can ask."

"So what's wrong?" the ancient man breached the subject as he sat down on his own bed on the other side of the room. Yuzu offered a brief summary of the day's events thus far, mainly because he didn't want to drill it any deeper into his mind than he was a failure the was in the ways of love, still thoroughly convinced that it was over before it even began.

Yosenabe chuckled a bit at the teenage laments; so wonderfully naive his grandson was, it was almost heartwarming. "Yuzu, I told you about how I met your grandmother, yes?" The boy nodded. "I wasn't exactly this stunning bachelor myself, but that amazing woman thought that I was worth her time and invested in me to kindle a relationship. If anything, you should feel more at ease. This young man thought you were worth 'ten points to Gryffindor' at your 'worst'--as you put it--so just think about how much you can stun him the next time you see him."

"...We're just a family of losers, aren't we?" Yuzu noticed a pattern of the men in his family being less than stellar in their first impressions with their lovers.

"If we found long-lasting love, are we really losers?"

"Argh~ I hate it when you're right..."

"Did you get some advice from your uncle?"

"Yeah. He gave me a good pick-up line to use later when I see that guy again."

"How is he doing? Your uncle, I mean."

"I don't think he's sticking to his diet. He was eating cake while we were talking."

"Hmm." Yosenabe whipped out his Android phone. "Show me how to do a selfie again. I want to send Genmai a picture of my abs." Despite his advanced age, Yosenabe was in rather fine shape; perfect for gloating to his out-of-shape son.

I am never going to introduce him to you guys, Yuzu resolved to himself as he demonstrated to his grandfather once again how to take a selfie.

Genmai looked down at his phone and opened the text message to a picture of his father's abs with a text reading, Junk food you've craved for an hour or the body you craved for a lifetime? Your decision. "Ooh~! A selfie battle," Genmai grinned at the challenge. The last battle he had with his father ended in a draw, but he had an idea of how to decimate his opponent this time. Plus, it would satisfy a recent curiosity that had crossed his mind.

Yosenabe looked down at his phone and opened the text message to a picture of his son using his potbelly as a shelf to hold a plate of chocolate cake and text reading, I've always been partial to chocolate cake over beefcakes myself.

Touche, Yosenabe texted back in defeat, giggling at his son's wit and shamelessness.

"Yes!" Genmai cheered to himself before re-positioning himself on the bed so that his back was to the pillows and taking a bite of his cake in victory. He recalled how in her pregnancies, Mizuame could use her belly as a shelf and given his degree of weight gain, Genmai had been curious as to whether he could achieve the same feats and was rather pleased with the results (even though it doubled as a clear indication that he needed to diet, but he decided to ignore that aspect for the time being).

"What are you cheering to yourself for?" Mizuame inquired, emerging from their closet in her underwear with a t-shirt and pants to change into.

"Selfie battle with my dad. Yuzu tattled on me so my dad tried to shame me into submission with his old man abs, but I'd take your cake over abs any day."

"Well, that's sweet of you." After buttoning her pants, Mizuame turned around on the bed and slowly crawled towards her husband with a look in her eye.

  Genmai couldn't quite tell if it was a good look or a bad look. After all, she was always getting on him about eating on the bed, worrying about crumbs and stains on their bedspread, regardless of how often Genmai assured her that he was careful and would always clean up after himself. "W-What?" he finally asked, setting the plate of cake on his nightstand in case if that were really the issue.

"You got frosting on your cheek," Mizuame stated, her face a few inches from his. She slyly licked the frosting on his cheek, traveling to his mouth and giving his and her own tongue a bit of a workout, enthralling her husband with the surprise act of romance. He may have kissed her mouth a million times but he would kiss it a million times more because God damn! can this woman French kiss. When they broke apart, Genmai sat in a bit of a daze, still the lovestruck fool he always was, until something caught his attention out of the corner of his eye.

"You stole my cake!" he accused by pure reflex.

"And you're on a diet and this is your second slice," Mizuame pointed out as she spun around, revealing her crime while taking a bite herself. "I'm only doing this because I love you." Genmai groaned; he couldn't exactly get angry with her after all, but diets just SUCK~! "Now hurry up and get ready, unless you take chocolate cake over dates too."

"Perish the thought, milady. The succulence of the chocolate would melt in the heat of my passion for you."

"Ooh~" she grinned coquettishly before leaving him be to get ready for their outing.
