An Buddhist icon in the window seal of a small buddhist building in Aba, China. What struck me about this shot was the strong colors and the fact that the icon was wrapped in the red cloth, I dont know why it was, but it was neat.Yashica GSN, 45mm f1.7 Yashinon lens, Fuji Provia 100F

red is a good luck in general colour, and i just love how strongly it stands out.
this photograph makes me remember a younger me being in monastries and temples a lot as a kid, and just praying to the chinese gods while growing up.

I'm pretty sure the red cloth was for Chinese New Year. Red is supposed to drive away bad luck.

this was actually in the tibetan area of china, they dont follow the same ideas as the chinese, plus I took this shot several months before chinese new years
