Hyrule Warriors interested me quite a bit long before I finally got a copy. Almost all of the characters, whether new, re-designed or upscaled look amazing. There's something about the visual style that really works. Nintendo themselves could do with taking note.
As usual I got my grubby hands on the models and had a look for papercraft potential. Sheik's re-design is one of my favourites and didn't look too impractical to edit.
This project was started in January-February 2015 (even before I actually owned the game!) but I abandoned it for a while. After moving flats I had a better environment to work on the 3D model and to eventually unfold and build it in November. My newer printer works wonders compared to my old one, so finally I can get a good screen-approximation of the colours and saturation.
She's been manually posed based on one of the official pieces of artwork, though not as exaggerated because of balance considerations.
Where's her harp? I dunno, I guess she lost it...
See below for the template download links, which contain all you need to print and build your own version! Additional info can be found within the download file and on PDO/PDF #1. Any other questions, feel free to ask here.

It's a 37.8MB ZIP file which contains PDFs and PDOs to print from or use as references. ~45cm tall, 23 pages and 280 pieces.
You can open the ZIP archive with software such as WinRAR, Alzip, 7Zip. Just search around!
You can open the PDO files with Pepakura Viewer downloadable free here: www.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en…
Please do use this as it's immensely helpful as a resource and will show you exactly where parts go. It doesn't work on Macs unfortunately though, unless you emulate Windows.

Yeah me too, I've been wishing for an art style like this one in a canon Zelda game since Twilight Princess but Nintendo seems to not like it very much :c

BotW will probably be good in it's own Nintendo way. But how it will compare to other open world games is what I worry about. A last hurrah for my dusty Wii U in any case!

Well yeah, this is Nintendo's first real attempt at open world mechanics but who knows? Maybe they can surprise us! The world is huge already. Though the only thing I'm worried about is the possibility of the world being kind of empty... I think that all zelda games have had that "issue" (it's not a real issue but it's something that could have been way better). The worlds are kind of empty, especially in TP and SS, and so far, the trailers have shown nothing much but a few enemies, the Shrines, and Hyrule Castle, but mostly a lot of land. I read somewhere that they showed only that to avoid spoilers and there are actually many NPC's and towns. Or at least I hope so O: I wouldn't want an open world where there is nothing but land.
Oh and I understand. Yeah papercrafting can be exhausting after a while, and I can just imagine the amount of time you spend on your models!

I agree, empty worlds fall flat fast once the initial thrill of exploration dies down. The older games at least have the excuse of hardware limitations and what other games were up to at the time.
Yeah it's a time consuming hobby isn't it?
My peak crafting phase was from 2008-12 when I was a layabout student/unemployed. Not so much time these days sadly...I may put out a model at the end of the year but we'll see...

Hey, if I may ask... is it true that you can export pre-existing 3D models to Pepakura? Because if that's so, I'd like to try and create templates for models that can't be found anywhere yet

I think Nintendo choose not to make their game graphical, nice paper model I thought it was a 3d model rendered.

I always enjoy the games, but the cel shading of the Wii U one just doesn't excite me much
