This sign caught my attention as it was prominently displayed among a trove of neat items inside the quaint little Boutique "The Quilted Duck" located in Nainamo. B.C. I looked forward to going shopping there with my sister in-law each time I visited with my family. She would insist on buying me one of the "treasures" to take home with me. Such beautiful memories of special time spent together.

I am posting this early to allow time for your consideration of this request. Please reach out to the homeless women of this world many are mom's too and do not get to celebrate on their special day. Anything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated.

There are many ways to help with donations of cash or meal tickets sold in thrift stores, purchasing or donating items that can be sold to your local homeless shelter or charitable organizations that deal with the homeless. Volunteering your time is always a great way to help as well.

Here is fun project to do with your kids or grand-kids. They love to assemble those little gift bags and it give them something to do especially when mom's are busy. It is a great way to teach them sharing and they also love delivering them.

Consider making little gift bags from paper lunch bags filling them with travel size toiletries. They need sunscreen especially in the warmer months, shampoos, tooth brushes, tooth paste, little soaps or disinfecting gels, socks, folding hats, anything you can add that will fit in the bags. I like to add a few individually wrapped candies the kind that will not melt in the heat. Then you can draw something on the front of the bag or add cute stickers or add a little card inside to make it very special, ( they love home made cards ). To finish make a couple holes on the folded top of the bag to thread a ribbon and tie in a bow. These can then be taken to the shelters or charities dealing with the homeless and they will be handed out to the women. It does not cost a lot and makes a big difference. Let us hope for a better world.
