Description Oh my... A reference sheet for Sagacious? Finally!! *shot*

For those of you who had been wondering how does Sagacious's headband looks like, the explanation and pictures are finally here! Rather than just a piece of ornamental accessory that can be clipped onto her bangs, her headband is similar to a wreath – including an opening at the back of her head for convenient removal whilst ensuring a comfortable fit. The 'arms' go under the base of her ears (left side-view picture) rather than just stop right in front of it so that it wouldn't slide off if she were to be violently thrown around like a rag-doll. Not sure why I would say that, but it's an example nonetheless.

The faint little symbol at the top left corner of this picture is a marking she has received as proof of her faith in a certain Higher Being in my Sonic FC's universe, Æliph (pronunciation: E-lith). The marking can be found on her right arm, which can explain why she wears that separate sleeve a lot.

Anyways, time for her brief bio!
Name: Sagacious Xia Pei
Species: Fennec Fox
Age: 19
D.O.B.: 13th August ???? (I follow the games. What can I say?)
Personality: A day-dreaming, quiet girl who has a bad temper underneath, Sagacious is often timid around strangers and tries her best to make herself useful (in an appropriate manner) around her friends. She has problems handling her emotions, and would usually prefer to do so alone rather than have a chat about it. However, that doesn't stop her from aiding others in their worries.

Team Formation compatible (however, only one position is allowed per Team):
Magic (Preferably)
Power (Sometimes)
Abilities/Aptitude:
– Light Manipulation
– Darkness Manipulation (seldom uses this ability around anyone)
– Staff Mastery (because of Roslan)

Any tips or questions, you are free to say/ask~

P.S.: I seriously need to figure out why my scanned pictures take up more memory than my digital pictures. Any ideas?

There's an oc that looks almost exactly like that, I asked my friends who it looked like and they said it looked like the oc that belongs to: xmissaaliyahxx.deviantart.com
this is her G+ if you need it: plus.google.com/+DanielaTheFox…

Oh? May I have a link to the character that you mentioned that looks similar to mine? o .o I'm curious to see how "almost exactly" similar to my character.

fav.me/d9q2rr3 Though the G+ page appears to be deleted. But when I went to show it to a friend of mine and I  cropped one of the sketches and showed it to her. She said that it looked like xmissaaliyahxx.deviantart.com 's oc. and they do look very simular. It mostly looked like a recolored version of your oc shown above.

though the newer version looks like extra hair was added.

Thank you very much for informing me about this, miss. Quite nice to know that someone actually did a recolour of my FC, hahaha~
Nothing to worry about. So as long as the person does not come to my page claiming that my FC was a recolour of her FC, I shall not bother that person about it.

Your drawing has gotten much better since I was last around.

Also, I realise that when I scan a picture, the computer tries to save it in it's complete hi-res glory. So it saves it with reaallly big resolutions.
big picture = big file size

Derp~ Let's say that I've been lurking around the tutorials section of dA for quite a while now.

big file size = a reduction in performance speed and the inability to play my games without it being slowed down

Aww she looks so cute and its good to finally have a ref on the girl~ whats the colors to her staff though?

Do you mean digital drawings or camera photos?

Axe-Cell In reply to HASBEAN [2012-10-26 02:28:16 +0000 UTC]

I'm still deciding on that. I can't make it too white, and neither do I want it to have the ye`olde wooden finish, and yet it has to have a colour scheme that goes well with her, regardless of her attire. Fussy me~

I was referring to the pictures scanned with a scanner.

Ah, well that's up to you to have fun with~ XD

Yes I know about the scanner but I was referring to what you were comparing it to saying " why do the scanned pics take up more memory than digital pic" So I wanted to know what you meant by "digital pics"

Ooohh... Those digital pictures. My bad, miss~ Great, I don't even remember what I'd thought yesterday.
Yes, I am referring to those digital pictures that one would do on the computer, but not the photos. I don't even have a camera as of the moment.

ok My guess is that scanners usually have high resolution (meaning more pixels and colors per square inch) and they save a large canvas size. (mine usually scans pis at around 1500 by 2000 px or larger because scanners kinda take a photograph of what ever you "scan") Digital drawings however won't be that large due to the fact that you won't draw to the detail of a Photograph ( at least I don't, and that means less color count) and they are usually smaller. ( My drawings are usually around 1200px tall by 900px wide; making less Pixels; ergo a smaller save file)

Helpful any?

Axe-Cell In reply to HASBEAN [2012-10-26 03:12:44 +0000 UTC]

Ooooohhhh.... So it's the size of the picture and the high resolution that makes up for most of the picture's memory size, not some anomaly within the picture itself. Well that pretty much sums up all of my speculation since the first time I'd used this scanner of mine.

Thank you very much for the explanation, miss~

How adoweeble the expressions here are just that and the shaded picture I can't seem to take my eyes off you're improving so quickly!! This will definitely help me in future references when drawing her

I have the same problem with my computer. I think it's got something to do with the variations of pixel colours...eh, don't really know how to explain it :l

Axe-Cell In reply to Little-Ash-Hey [2012-10-25 12:27:55 +0000 UTC]

Why thank you, miss~ Let's just say that I have done a bit of prowling around dA in search of colour pencil tutorials ...

No need to worry, miss. At the very least, according to your explanation, 'the variations of pixel colours' might just be the cause of it.

Yay tutorials I never seem to understand half of them so I generally just wing it but there are some really helpful ones

Haha I have no idea

Sometimes one feels tempted to do something that wasn't stated in the tutorial at all~ Feels great, and we might find ourselves a more convenient way to do something rather than just 'obey the tutorial'.
