Pokemon can warp time in their local bubbles so that the four-week or however long metamorphosis is compressed to a few seconds. This was an evolutionary adaptation to prevent being eaten while in their metamorphosing state. After all, in a world where everything, even the plants, can behave as an apex predator... there is no time to be helpless.

Yeah, pokemon evolution is a way different concept.
But it has the other kind of evolution too, like tirtouga is related to turtwig by millions of years of evolution.

Lol I think they admitted that the term evolution was taken too literally. In fact, it's probably closer to metamorphosis pokemon-wise. Cuz metamorphosis can happen quicker.

I agree, but it's easier to say "Pichu evolved into Pikachu" than to say "Pichu metamorphasized " into Pikachu.
