Description But the raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only,
That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.
Nothing further then he uttered - not a feather then he fluttered -
Till I scarcely more than muttered `Other friends have flown before -
On the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before.'
Then the bird said, `Nevermore.'

Okay so my tablet stopped working, to no fault of its own. My computer was being retarded and wouldn't accept the drive, so whenever I tried using the pen, the cursor would very slowly (I mean painfully slowly) follow the path. So I cleaned it up a bit and let it stay off overnight and tried again. When I saw the pen started working, I decided to work on something to make sure it was functioning properly, and here's the result.

I was wanting to make this manipulation ever since I described it in a comment yesterday. The image I originally had in my mind was nothing like this (It wasn't a silhouette, it was an actual manip with crows coming out of her head) but it was taking too long and I was growing tired, and wanted to see what it looked like as a silhouette.

I wasn't disappointed.

Edgar Allan Poe's "the Raven" is my favourite poem by him, so when I was looking for a title (Since "as the crow flies" is redundant here on deviantART) it was the first place I looked. And it paid off because it fits.

Originally this wasn't going to be implying macabre, but I realized that my project mum made me do about depression probably isn't going to be finished, and this fit very well. So of course, as I was trying to render the final image, I get the brilliant idea to add the bullet wound to her head. It was originally in red, but it blended in to my original background so I changed it.

I wouldn't say this is macabre, even though it does have some influences. The whole image is a metaphor.

I just went outside just in time to see a flock of ravens fly overhead >u>

I used so many brushes and textures, I'll have to regroup my list.

Until then~
