Agh! You killed me!!! Jk, but yeah, they really do have a lot in common (troublesome pasts, loose hold on sanity, manipulated by a corrupted old dude), are from roughly the same time period and have similar atmospheres to their games. Plus, I think Daniel could benefit from Alice's strength and he help keep her grounded in what's real.

Yeah, I've heard about that! Actually, I signed the petition when I heard American McGee was planning a sequel at the time called Alice in Otherland. I kind of forgot all about it, then checked a little while back to find that, yeah, it's gonna be a series of animated shorts called Alice: Otherlands
That would be an interesting thing, I wonder what it'd look like in Daniel's mind??? Maybe it'll resemble Castle Brennenburg... Would Alice fight enemies??? Wow, this is really thought provoking

Maybe Daniel's (insane) mind would look like an endless maze of dark rooms and red goop. (kind of like in Queensland. Every time I saw the shadow in Amnesia I was like "AAAAannndd we're in QUEENSLAND! WOnderlAnD! Off with your hEEAAAdss!!". I actually said that to my brother XD) with monsters, of course. Probably mr. faces's and creepy Alexander's and some... original creations. (dundunDUUn)
I'm not sure what the sane part would look like. Maybe something to do with his sister? And light. Lots of light.

That would be awesome Yeah, the majority of his mind could be plagued with the corruption Alexander planted in his mind. In fact, yeah, the endless maze and dark rooms and red goop would be very reminiscent to the castle to show that maybe Daniel is failing to truly escape the mansion. As well as the monsters. But maybe the original creations could be like his own personal demons. But, yeah, I totally thought the red goop and stuff are like Queensland Lol, just another connection between the two games I probably would have said something similar, I'm always babbling on about this kind of stuff XD I totally agree, I think the sane part of his mind would a bright, safe place. Maybe she'd meet the memory of Hazel? Maybe something like the Vale of Tears or Londerland... That one piece of Daniel would be so pure and beautiful... it'd further encourage her to save him from his insanity. I really can't wait for this Alice: Otherlands game, though, it'd help give more reference

That would be really interesting. And actually, one time I checked a quote compilation of Alice from AMR on youtube, have you seen it? And some of these things she says sounds like it would fit if she knew/was talking to Daniel! For example:
“I’m grateful for a moment’s rest, but (the) creature’s energy’s like a steam engine! I was a second away from expiring. Thank heavens! Or something… Or someone…” This sounds like something she'd say after escaping one of the monsters in Brennenburg.
“You can’t have chosen this foul work. Abandon it!” This is what I imagine her saying to Daniel referring to his murders in the castle.
“But you are imposed on. Another sets your table. Tells you what is real, what is right. I’m here to help you break free.” This referring to his whole mess with Alexander.
“You don’t have to do this. Be just. Be fair. Reclaim yourself!” And this is more encouragement
“Survival satisfies, only if continued existence has an objective. Revenge focuses the mind.” I noticed this one recently, but it would make sense referring to Daniel's goal to murder the baron.
And this last one got relevant after you mentioned Alice entering his mind, “Tumbling into turmoil… Fleeing the future… Sinking into another’s past.”
But yeah, when I found these I got really excited

I'm not sure what exactly to do with these, but they could sound relevant. here are some (I noted what I see in a few of them):
"Everyone I love dies violently; unnaturally. I'm cursed! Why go on? I'll just hurt others."

"my gosh, what was that?" "and what is that noise?" (shadow, monster?)
"He was a bit vague, but whether by design, or from ignorance, or out of fear, I don't know" (telling someone about Daniel?)
"There's no lock but it won'y open, it's stuck"
"well he's very dear to me, I must find him"
"don't I know you?"
"What do you mean, you're the one who didn't wait! I have reason to-" (perhaps when Daniel follows her to a battle or something even though she told him to stay behind.... XD)

Ooh, those are good And maybe the ones where she's talking to someone else about Daniel, she could be talking to Agrippa. I could totally see these fitting in somewhere. Especially for the storyboard you were talking about. You could use the real quotes as audio. Now, to find some Daniel quotes...

"Is anyone there?" "It's cold...it's so cold." "Something is wrong, oh so wrong!" "There is nothing left, everything is gone." Lamentiing alongside Alice. They're both kind of having a pity party sort of here.
"Get away!" "You shouldn’t do that!" About Alice's curious/impulsive actions. Like maybe she's trying to confront the monsters and he's like "WTF?!"
"Do whatever it takes!" To encourage Alice
"Who are you to question me!?" Angry at Alice
"Get away! I shouldn't do that!" Maybe he's almost about to accidentally hurt Alice?

To be honest, I haven't started (probably not what you wanted to hear, sorry!!!). But when I do it may take a while, Daniel, well mostly Alice is a really difficult character to capture correctly, well at least for me, so, yeah. That one-shot took me a few hours to perfect itself But I'll try my best to work quickly

I have a problem with drawing old dudes as well.
