How did you become a fading dream?Like a star shooting across my sky...
I reached for you and held you close
For a moment, you were mine
I didn't close my fingers fast enough
So you impatiently burned my palm
I thought our light would shine forever
But it didn't shine for long
I don't even know how this happened...
In such a short expanse of time
I went from Everything to Nothing
For you had changed your mind
How did you become a fading dream?
Like an icicle hanging down
You promised and made me feel like a queen
And then you snatched my crown
You grabbed the icicle and yanked it away
Then stabbed it through my heart
I was stunned, I never saw it coming
You ripped my world apart
I used to feel so calm and warm
thanks to your shooting star
Nestled in my palm, dazzled by
Everything you are
But then, my skin was scalded
The heat of the sun was in your star, exuding from its core
Because for a moment, I felt your love flowing through me...
But then, I didn't anymore.
How did this all disappear so quickly?
How did you become a fading dream?
Because, with you, I had the world
Now, I've lost everything.
