Description
I found out today that the amazing Animator/Creator Monty Oum had passed away.He was a very hardworking and inspiring artist. I was really surprised by the news.
I drew this 1 page comic as a tribute to him and his work RWBY.
It was also good practice for my upcoming Webcomic: Project EV01.
This was actually done in 1 sitting, I wanted to finish this today. Now I extremely sleepy and tired >_<

I'd like to start by mentioning that the art style is breathtaking, as well as the art technique used to create this beautiful image. The concept is simply fascinating, and I love how the shining moon compliments the drawing so well. The reflection from the moonlight also gives this stunning effect to the piece of art, which is one of the reasons as to why I love this masterpiece. Another thing I'd like to say is that I love the pastel pink rose, and how it is a brilliant addition to this drawing. In conclusion, this has to be one of my favorite pieces of art by far, and I cannot wait to see more.

I haven't begun to watch RWBY yet (yes I know... I'm slacking), but since I saw this picture, I was moved. I'm sure there are many, like myself, who are still not used to the idea that Monty Oum had passed away. The colors, the emotions, basically this whole deviation is on point and this is probably one of the finer tributes to a fallen artists that I have seen. Please keep continuing your journey down your artistic path. From your motivation alone, I can tell Monty Oum would have shared this amongst his peers. May he rest in peace. Goodnight, Monty.

I just heard about Monty's death today after reading a fanfic about RWBY today and This an awsome tribute to him, the best I've seen so far. I would have preferred brighter colors but that is only my opinion, dim colors do match the mood your trying to set. I wouldn't call it very original seeing how this is a bit cliche in anime. There is just one thing that the longer i look at it the weirder it gets, and its the arm pulling up the hood in the second panel. It looks detached from the upper_arm a bit.-The_tears_just_look_like_lines_on_her_face_too._I'm_not_saying_i_could_do_bet-ter_but_this_is_only_my_opinion.______P.S._i_ran_out_of_words_to_use_so_this_is_just_one_big_word.

This is amazing. Rooster teeth would love it. Monty was very important to all of us, he made us mostly smile and laugh. Never have I ever looked at his work without a smile. I, and the entire animation community will miss him. I dedicate every piece of RWBY to him now. Rooster teeth misses you, but we must move on. We wish we can see you again but it will take sometime for that. May god have rest on your soul. To a deer friend. We miss you. RIP Monty Oum. We love you, and we will never forget you.

I cannot fully express just how much I love this piece. I like how you gave the sketchy feeling to the Beowolves. The White Rose is uniquely used here than the common Red one. It gave a sense of depth.
The message expressed by 3 panels is simple and concise, well done. Makes me feel. Happy and Sad. Ahaha.
Monty will surely be missed by many.

The scythe. Taking a fair look at it here, it looks close to being flat (Like paperweight I guess). The length here is completely fine, but it needs to have a little width from the Blades sides going upwards to achieve its actual weight. Maybe it needs to be a little bit bigger? Considering of course that it is wielded by two hands.
The keyword here is observation. Meaning a little bit more into looking at the reference for the scythe.
And lastly is the Beowolves. I only wonder, are they leaping for her? The Grimm on the right seems standing to me, whilst the others does look like they are jumping towards her, so it makes me think both ways (Since I spot no lines of action too). I think it should be a little bit more detailed between the snowy ground and the Beowolf with the style being kept. Sure they can be both doing the same thing, but that is where it needs to be seen first hand by the audience. This image is beautiful in its own merrit. Great display of color sense but it could use a bit more attention to the way colors interact based on lighting. The impact is very sentimental and I as a RWBY fan was very saddened by the news of Monty's passing. This image is very beautiful and with a bit of revision could actually become even better in the future should you choose to re-draw or retouch it. Perhaps doing the rose in Ren's color scheme would have given a bigger sense of monty's impact on RWBY, not just as the writer and animator. But as a man who loved his creations and did his hardest efforts to become part of his brilliant ideas and part of his community. Thank you for coming forth and drawing this piece, it is very short sweet and to the point, leaving the viewer with a somber sense of melancholy but hopes of better futures to come for RT and the RWBY fanbase. Rest in peace, Monty Oum. Husband, Friend, and amazing human being working withing a wonderful community.

This truly is a amazing piece of artwork to tribute a amazing person.
Monty was a awesome, creative person that brought us into the world of RWBY. Without him, RWBY wouldn't be here, and we wouldn't be loving it so much like we currently are.
This little comic strip you made to honor him really made me start tearing up, because when I first heard that he passed on, I was totally in shock and had tears in my eyes. This is just beautiful. Ruby looks beautiful, the background is beautiful, and the rose is beautiful. Everything in this piece really shines, and you put amazing attention in the details.
This is a truly beautiful piece to honor the life of Monty Oum, and he really was a great guy. Rest in peace, Monty.

I don't know of the artist known as Monty nor have I seen his series but I can say this is at. It really hits the feels and is very original. you clearly have a lot of technique and vision. The details are just as amazing as your inspiration. R.I.P Mr. Monty and I hope you know you have very loyal fans. The artist of this drawing is clearly one of those fans.
Never give up no matter how hard the challenge seems. that stone may look heavy but it might be hollow and easy to carry. Don't let intimidation take you down.

Wow, yes I had just head or this yesterday, Monty was an amazing writer and the voice of Ren. First off, thank you for making this comic. I love how you used the colors to make the picture look cold and I am always a sucker for sketchy lines, love em. Nice detail on crescent rose, that weapon is pretty hard. The perspective view on the last panel is amazing I love how the rose is right there but you're more focused on ruby and the grimm but you still notice it there. All in all, beautiful job you're awesome, bye.

We'll all miss Monty. He certainly made an impression on me, especially since I got into a car wreck a few hours after hearing about his passing. But we all must move on, and the RWBY Team has done a great job in his absence. He would be proud of what RWBY has become, and how it's going.
