This is my part of the art trade with ~SumRandomKiwi88 ! She asked for a black and white Lavi, but I couldn't stop myself from coloring it T^T And so we've got a monochrome shaded lineart on the left side and a colored version on the right side~ Hope you like it anyway!Lavi is an awesome character from D.Gray-man~ I loved the series, too bad it ended so soon (only 103 episodes) XD
As promised, I'll stop counting after this time... my 5th attempt at digital coloring ever!!

Congratz on the hands! Hands are really hard to draw, since they are extremely expressive. The arm that's holding up his head looks a tad too long. The colouring is great, I like it how you've put shadows on his clothing and not have tight, flat clothes.

Very nice picture, my dear! The hair looks lovely and your folds look nice. Be careful of your anatomy, though. His arm that ends up holding up his chin goes on forever! Itβs much too long in proportion to the shoulders and the rest of the torso.. I have super long arms myself, but if I rest my hand under my chin like that, my elbow hits right at the edge of the ribs. Round out the forearm a bit and have it end a bit sooner. So try to keep that in mind. You can always use yourself for reference with anatomy. His hand thatβs holding the book looks very nice, though, which is good to see! Hands are typically a little bit hard to do. The shading is nice and simple, allowing it to be a very nice and simple look. It looks very nice!!

It's a dark red monochrome, not black and white
The idea of having just a pencil shaded line art stayed
so I thought it would be ok

Wow *_* You draw hands better than I do now XD I find that you kind of emphasized the lips a bit too much. It looks... pooffy..(is that even a word?) lol I mean that it looks like it pops out a bit too much making him look feminine. Well, that's just what I think. I'm probably not really used to seeing your style (since you don't submit deviations too often).
