Description I have never done something like this, so this was a first. :0

It took me a while because I kept changing stuff and playing with filters, but I really like the end result. Gaara's eyes are actually really hard to draw...I'm used to drawing large, animated eyes, and realistic eyes...but his have a weird-ish shape, and I feel really uncomfortable drawing them. But I finally got them down. :]

The kanji on his forehead is a little too far over. Whatevs.

I can't do backgrounds. But I think I achieved the look of the desert on a nice day...maybe.

Tools: Photoshop CS5

Hahaha thanks :]

Wait, did you mean that his mouth makes him more beautiful, or that I should work on this piece again to make him beautiful? xD

I mean you drew his lip in beautiful way,
and Gaara looks beautiful too!

D= This is gorgeous. He looks ... >w< You have actually made Gaara moar amazing to look at. The lines look like they're right out of a professional manga.
Even if you struggled with his eyes (and it's true D= they are very hard to draw...!), you've portrayed them so well. They still look like his, but more realistic.

That background colours make me happy. =D

Ahaha thank youuuuuuuu I absolutely love drawing him, he's such a dynamic character both physically and personality-wise. If only he was real...kekeke. >:3

I'm really happy with how the background turned out, I like seeing Suna happy and lovely

I love drawing him too. ;] Despite not having eyebrows, his range of facial expressions never seems to become old. xD

The Sand should be happy and lovely. ;3; And Kankurou should take of that freaking hat, unless he wants to have seizures.

MikachuAttack In reply to Chopstick-Bunshin [2010-09-09 00:48:17 +0000 UTC]

I know right. I feel like Kankuro would be good looking character if he just washed off the kabuki makeup (doesn't that melt off his face when he sweats?) and didn't wear a hat that looked like he took one of those fabric textbook covers and pulled them over his head. I don't know if you have those in England, but I know silly middle school boys do that with them. XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Chopstick-Bunshin In reply to MikachuAttack [2010-09-09 19:32:34 +0000 UTC]

xD Aww, he's still good looking with the hat and make-up...;] I think he'd look cool with just one or other other. I'm not struck on his newer make-up, though.

Yeah! D: Maybe it's waterproof. It must be, since you must sweat like mad in the desert. ;[ Then again, look at Gaara's clothes, you'd think they'd be far too warm in the desert. If they were all white it might not be so bad...XD Except he'd look like a giant marshmallow<3 Or like cream on a cake with cherry on the top! : D That being his hair!

I've never heard of these textbook covers o.O I have to look these up.

Yeah, definently. Oh Kankuro. What a guy. Ahaha I feel like all the sand ninjas wear a lots of layers. Then again, so do a lot of real life people who live in the desert xD I guess it's to protect against the sand...? Rofl.

Gaara would look good in anything put on him....or not put on him.

Hahaha I tried googling them to show you but I couldn't find anything. They're called "BookSox" I think.

Chopstick-Bunshin In reply to MikachuAttack [2010-09-10 02:54:00 +0000 UTC]

;'] I wonder does that constant need for layers and blazing heat mould their personalities, at all. xD They say people in cold places tend to have cold, reserved dispositions, but I don't know if that's true.

...LOL. Well, I have to agree, no matter what he wears D= he just looks amazing in it~

Ahh yes. ;'D ... Well, they're certainly more refined than the wallpaper/wrapping paper we're told to use.

Hmmm it's something to think about! Their houses seem to be kind of primitive too. But I bet Gaara and his siblings have a nice big screen TV and a few gaming systems.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Chopstick-Bunshin In reply to MikachuAttack [2010-09-10 22:02:02 +0000 UTC]

LOL. Yeah. But, can you imagine the amount of gaming systems and tvs they'd go through with the amount of sand that gets into the houses? Dude. Then again when Gaara becomes Kazekage it's not like he won't have access to huge ass amounts of money. >>' Er, that's why the houses are so primitive. So he can pimp out his own house with everyone's dosh.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MikachuAttack In reply to Chopstick-Bunshin [2010-09-11 00:20:50 +0000 UTC]

But then again, he can control sand, sooooo~~

I feel like Gaara would be the opposite though xD I feel like he'd dish out his own money to help make Suna glamorous~<3 But that would definently make for a funny side manga. GOSH I need to stop with all these side-manga ideas. Maybe it would make for a good four-panel manga.

I kind of wanted to do a silly drawing/sketch of everyone at the beach, with one of the girls complaining about getting hit by a riptide and getting sand in the you-know-where. And then Gaara's like, "Icancontrolsandlol" and with a flick of his hand, the sand is removed (I wouldn't draw this, yuck xD) and the girl is like O______________O;.

IWANTTODOITSOBAD.

I'm such a dirty person. ;___;' My apologies~~

LOL just write them down, just write them downnnn! xD So you know that if you're bored one day you have something you can possibly draw.
That definitely would be hilarious.

...OHMYGOD.
XD Oh, shut up. If it makes you feel less filthy, I just rememebered Gaara can make an eyeball out of sand, right? I might have the method wrong, but if he were that way inclined, it's not like he couldn't peek. ;| If we were in a seriously messed up alternate universe, Gaara would probably be the one to PUT sand there in the first place. : D YAY FOR TOTALLY MAKING SOMETHING FUNNY INTO SOMETHING CREEPY AND OOC.

I'm sorry. orz

MikachuAttack In reply to Chopstick-Bunshin [2010-10-05 13:16:18 +0000 UTC]

Bahahahaha. I don't think that's OOC at all, unless he was doing it on purpose to be a pervert.

In all seriousness, I think since he didn't have that "parental figure" to tell him about all the birds and the bees (as we so call it, idk what y'all Europeans call it, but it's basically the sex talk xD), he would probably observe people to figure out what relationships and physical relations are all about. He wouldn't have been able to sleep anyway, so he'd be out and about at night, probably looking into someone's window while they were having sex or something Just as a curious adventure I think, but not in a perverted way.

I kind of want to make a little mini doujinshi now about that xD

I think what I'm gonna do, is that I'm going to write out a fanfiction type thing that's only a chapter or so long...it might make dialogue easier if I do it that way. I'm having a hard time making GaaraxYuki work out so it's not OOC on his part...xD

I kind of want to have him be blatantly obvious, asking her "Do you have romantic feelings for me?" or something (with Yuki comically thinking like, "I guess being this blunt runs in the family" as she thinks about Temari xD) and Yuki trying to explain that a relationship isn't all about the kissing and the feelings, but it's about trust too. And how it's hard for him to understand...or something. XD

Chopstick-Bunshin In reply to MikachuAttack [2010-10-16 19:34:18 +0000 UTC]

xD Oh, well that's true. I hadn't thought you could put sand in someone's bathing suit without it being considered perverted, but even my logic can be bent to breaking point sometimes.

We get that much American programming over here, I think we're more accustomed now to terms like that. :] I think a lot of English people probably get that one. I have to just add, the word "awesome" just doesn't sound right in an English accent. xD' That's definitely a word only Americans should be allowed to say.
Moving on.
You're probably right. As scary as the thought of a pair of two raccoon-like eyes leering into your room at night is...x'D I have to laugh. He'd mean it innocently but there'd be an ominous sort of feeling where others are concerned...!

Go for it! D= I'd love to see that. It'd be fantastic in your style. XD
That sounds like a really good idea for plotting dialogue. I think though that if you do make anything GaaxYuki related, or even anything ocxcanon related, you also need to give yourself a small amount of room for potential OOC, but not too much. The problem is, we don't actually know what Gaara or any of his homies in the Leaf would be like in a romantic relationship, so we can only make educated guesses. xD
It sound to me though that you have a good idea of how to go about making it work. That sounds quite 'Gaara', if that makes sense. :3 I think, that's the sort of scene I could see in a manga/doujinshi/fanfic, and not feel uncomfortable with it. :] It seems to help that you're quite good at figuring out how characters think.

So I've heard ^_^ I have a few English friends that always talk about how much they love some of the cartoons we've had here, that I didn't even know were over in the UK. It's pretty fascinating to talk about a show I grew up with, with a friend who lives halfway around the world.

Wouldn't 'awesome' sound like 'oh-some' with a dragged out 'oh'? When the Harry Potter craze first started up, I could not stop imitating a British accent...it was rather entertaining. ^__^ I wish I had a British accent! Whenever I try it though, I always get told that I sound Australian and not British. Huff. I guess it's in how I accent my words or something. :/

I would like a pair of racoon eyes watching me as I...>__>...nevermind.

I think OOCness should be widely accepted, because you're right, we don't know the character's reactions to certain things. They could be anything...but there should still be a limit. I mean...I feel like if Gaara were to ever get drunk (I feel like he would have a high alcohol tolerance though...xD), I feel like he would get really...confused? Confused as in he would start questioning silly things to himself, such as, "Why is my desk in the front of this room?" But again, he would be questioning these things to himself, in his head, so he would be very quiet but have a cross-eyes look on his face. XD But he wouldn't be running around in frilly pink undies. o_O

I hope so ~~
I need to write up this script so I can have you review it before I draw it out. XD

Yes~ I think a huge amount of programming over here is originally from America. Haha, yes~ It's weird to think how some things are loved and watched all around the world. xD In a nice weird sort of way, that is.

I think so. I think if you take the word "oar" but replace the "r" sound at the end with a "w", you've got something about-ish how English people usually say "awesome". XD If you're really posh, or if your name is Daniel Radcliff, then it sounds more like the way you described it.

LOL, to be honest, a lot of British people probably tried speaking like Harry Potter, too, since his accent is quite posh-sounding. Mine's nowhere near his in how stereotypically "English" it sounds. xD It's fun though to immitate it! ... You can get a British accent >D When you get a chance to come over here, just practice and get people to give examples. :3 I wish I could do an American accent though. I can do a Jerry Springer-guest's hick impression and that's about it. X'D
I've noticed that, how a lot of Americans who have either lived in England or been brought up around both accents, have what sounds like an Australian one. You'll get it eventually. ;D

...OH, MIKA. O; ... That can be arranged. We'll just find a life-sized cut out of Gaara if we can't get hold of the real thing. D= Y'know, prop it outside your window <;D HE'S ONLY OBSERVING FOR LEARNING PURPOSES.

Indeed. ;o
...
XDDD You're right, I think there should be a balance, since you can only guess, but they should still be educated guesses rather than wishful thinking where this is concerned.
He does look the type to have a high tolerance. To be honest, now I think of it that seems like something he'd definitely do, the just questioning silly things in his head I mean.
I still think it'd be nice though if Kankurou/Temari could get just one photograph of him running around in his pink frillies, though. ;[ Just once...! I think he'd have to be on drugs or something though. e_é;

:] Whenever you're ready, I'd love to review it if you're still interested in my thoughts on it. xD Haha.

Oh....Daniel Radcliffe....-shiver- xD

That's good to know. I'll have to practice moar. Omg, Jerry Springer. What a terrible yet good show, ahaha. It's good for entertainment. 8D

Now, what exactly is a 'posh' accent? o_O Is that regional, or is that like...the "proper" way or speaking? Sorry if that sounds so n00b. ;__;

LIFESIZE CUTOUT -spazz- That would be amazinggg. <3<3<3

Too bad Kankuro and Temari would be SLAUGHTERED if those photos ever came up in the Suna newspaper. If that even exists. I feel like it should, considering I remember there being a TV in Sasuke's room in the manga early, early on.

pink frillies ftw. ;D -sandcoffin'd-

Now, was that an "Eugh ... D;"-shiver, or an "UGGGGGH"-shiver? xDDD

xD inorite. It's so shameful to realise you're watching it but how can you NOT?

LOOOOL. Don't be mad at me, I don't mean this in a mean/condescending way, but I just died laughing, that was so sweet. xDD Don't feel like a n00b. No American I've ever talked to has understood me when I've went on about "posh" stuff.
That just means it's ... really, sort of ... Oh god how do I explain this.
Think of the stereotypical ye-olde British accent. Generally you pronounce your words properly (some people doing this to the extent they sound anally retentive), and often it's associated with rich, uppercrust, wealthy people.
Because I lack words to describe this word, I'll steal wiktionary's definition:

" 1. Associated with the upper classes.
She talks with a posh accent.

2. Stylish, elegant, exclusive (expensive).
After the performance they went out to a very posh restaurant.

3. Snobbish, materialistic, prejudiced, under the illusion that they are better than everyone else. usually offensive. (especially in Scotland and North England)
We have a right posh fart moving in next door"

Erm, I don't know if that helps, but I'd say if that's not enough, find a voice clipping of the Queen of England. xD I've never actually considered what that word means before, I just ... use it. So I'm sorry I can't be much help! OTL

IT WOULDDD. I'd be tempted to draw a big moustache on it though ;____; simply because that is what cutouts were made for...! -also sandcoffin'd-

Yes. :C Then again...we could always tell Gaara it was someone else who took the photos, you know, someone no one likes. D< ...I'd say Kabuto because he freaks me out, but he seems to have many, many fangirls.

LOL, yes, he does have a TV in his room. xD I've seen that picture recently of his room, where he's about to leave for Otogakure, I think. Also, I recently saw one of where he's a really little boy (whether it was canon/the real deal or not idk), but there IS a TV in his room. :] A clunky one, but it's still a TV. And they have computers there, too ... xD and VHS, I think, if I'm not imagining things. So a Suna newspaper isn't out of the question! There's even a piece of canon art of Naruto climbing out of the window, being scolded by his mum, and Minato's reading the paper. xD

With "skank" written on the back in fake diamonds. xD

BOTH. XD

Omg, yes, that helps. XDD Sorry I'm so -american- *shudder*. I wish I were British! One day I shall move there, and all will be good. It makes total sense. 8D

Mustacheeee. Gaara with a handlebarstache, HAH. -death-

Kabuto isn't even attractive. xD Especially now...-shudder- I guess to every woman/man their own man/snake....D:

XDD

I bet there's a Suna reality show about Gaara. I can't even imagine how he would handle drama. What kind of things would be going on there? o_O;

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Chopstick-Bunshin In reply to MikachuAttack [2010-12-08 21:57:11 +0000 UTC]

So, he disgusts you, but you find him attractive at the same time? : D I approve.

If you were British, you'd probably have our strange relationship with complaining. We hate when people complain, but we still like having something to be shocked and grumpy about now and then. XDD Bahaha, we all stem from the same planet, anyway, so you can just say you're practically British! >:3
Join ussss. >:B

...HAW oh god. I don't think the world's ready for that combination.

...He is if you're into nerdy lookin' right-hand-men, I guess. xD' I've always found him a bit creepy. Erm. Especially when in Orochibuto mode.

OHGOD. Reality shows? Just no. xD Somehow Ninja + Reality show just seems to spell irrepairable damage to cameras and people.
You know there'd be scandal as to why Gaara as the kanji for 'love' on his face. There would be rumours of it being a tattoo he got for his 'woman'. XDD

OF COURSE 8D

The British and the Japanese must be related somehow, because we are the exact same! (god, I realize that sounds so dumb, but I'm so tired, and I don't know how else to word that).

I did this thing on facebook that compiles certain status's from the year that you posted, and puts it into a small paragraph...mine was basically all about art and complaining. xD It pretty much sums up my year/life.

I WILL JOINNN YOUUUUU 8E -zombie walks, trips and falls, breaks neck-

Kabuttocks is definently a creeper. I mean seriously, those glasses? If I saw him sitting in a cafe or something, he would definently make me leave from all the weird vibes. D:

HAH. Don't forget college and homework. D=
Mine would just be complaining, art, procrastination and sleep.

OH GAWD IT'S A GOOD JOB YOU'RE ALREADY THE UNDEAD. D= A broken neck is becoming of a zombie<3 -gives plank of wood- D= Use that to keep your neck up, though. Like plants!

KABUTTOCKS. XDDDDD
That whole sentence just tickled me. I think I'd have to vacate the premises if I saw him, too.

LOL I love writing fanfics. D= I just fail at it. You might end up feeling motivated one day at random. xD Personally I hope you do. That'd be a hilarious read.
