So this is like the third Super Mario Odyssey-inspired art I guess?
But nah, more than that, the reason behind this pic sort of stems from me realizing that—setting aside my plethora of Super Mario artwork taking up most of my gallery, and occasional inclusive appearances—I haven’t really drawn Princess Peach solo in a looooooong while (last “Princess Peach only” post I remember was the cringy one way back in 2013 if you’re willing to sacrifice your eyes to find it
). Come to think of it, other than the fact I haven’t drawn Rosalina solo (as with Bowser, which is odd because due to how I strongly ship them I always draw them together), I haven’t even drawn Daisy in a solo pic as well in a loooooong while. 
Grod, I need to fix that, LOL But anyway, setting aside the fact I seem to neglect the princess when I draw things super Mario (solo picture-wise), I also happen to realize that ever since I discovered cel-shading (as well as enjoyed it immensely), I’ve also been neglecting soft-shading a LOT. Which in itself is hard to believe considering all my early (cringy) artworks in the past have all been soft-shaded to some extent. :U
Hmm. I could try and do another artwork with soft-shading after this just so I don’t lose my touch. But ehhh we’ll see—it takes me longer than my usual “I already take a long time to finish” drawings when it comes to soft-shading since I still have to blend the colors, bleh. :T
I was sorta paying more attention to Princess Peach’s tiara and if I still know how to fully do soft-shading (since I fear I might be getting rusty
) more than anything (mainly checking to see if I still know how to shiny, LOL ), so I tend to feel like Princess Peach herself feels a little…off from the way I usually draw her. But I think I’m improving on the shading of the dress, tho.

Welp, you can just say it's convenience, LOL. Since the cringe came to you, it saves a lot of unnecessary time looking for it (or not to).
Pfft. Just take the Daisy spot if you want to, buddeh. c: I don't feel for making a race since I have a doujinshi (and future "wing pics" because "dem wings" //shot) to think of.
But then again, if we're talking about the entirety of our gallery, I technically might have beaten you; because I only said I haven't drawn Daisy solo in a long while but it didn't mean I didn't draw her at all (I believe I've given her the solo treatment like, 3-4 times? I don't think I wanna look back to find out).
Oh, I don't think I deserve all the "credit" you're giving me about the background. Paint Tool SAI (unlike Photoshop) is like 100% customizable, from brushes to textures. The "glass shard"-esque background was just a picture I custom-turned into a texture. But I did do those circle-like shaded parts of it, so I guess it wasn't 100% effortless?

Maybe it knew I wouldn't give up until I found it, so it just 'gave up' and came to me instead.
The irony of it all, I just sent you a note talking about how much I hate how everyone turns everything into a competition and here "I" am trying to 'start' a competition with you....This 'terrible' mindset is contagious! 
....Well now that you put it THAT way Buddy...I think you're right...I've only drawn Daisy 1 time *at least to my knowledge*
Maybe it's just that I'm not well educated into the ways of digital yet, but that sounds like it took SOME work...Work that would probably drive me crazy in its possible 'complicated-ness' At least 'complicated' in MY 'noob in digital' mind!

I don't know; Princess Peach wearing a tiara only took place in Super Mario Odyssey. I guess Nintendo wanted a change, like how they gave Mario's hat eyes in the same game?
Or maybe to make her look a bit more...princess-y (because most princesses tend to be depicted in tiaras)? Who knows.
