I always pictured NES Pit to be the most "level-headed" among them in my personal headcanon of those three variations of Pit. Like, he's that guy who ain't nothing to play with and is pretty scary when he gets angry, lmao
I (sorta) have my own personal interpretation/portrayal of these Pits.
(And yeah, when Palu's the one trying to make him seem incompetent just to make herself seem smarter, as well as manage almost everything purchasable in the game, weapons most especially, it's no surprise both the credit card and intimidate mechanics were taken away I would've gotten a kick out of being able to intimidate Palu into giving me a discount )

Huh. Funny you mentioned that, because months back I was considering on doing an ask blog of the sort as well. But then I thought it over and figured that they'll likely require a lot of time and dedication (especially since the nature of most ask blogs require you to draw the responses), and coming from someone who's already so slow in terms of art, I just don't have that kind of time, ahaha. Dx It doesn't help that I'm already currently loaded with commissions and personal comic projects, so I don't think I'll be able to manage an ask blog and draw responses for each of them; heck, even a simple sketch takes hours for me x'D
But if you feel like you can make an ask blog work/manage, then by all means go for it~

Haha, maybe one day I'll draw those three again. x'D Can't lie and say I've had some silly scenarios thought up about them plus, it can give me a chance to talk about my headcanon of those three angel bois lol~

i really like that headcanon for classic pit because while he looks the least intimidating out of the three due to his more cartoony style, he could easily strike fear into anyone, plus has a no-nonsense attitude from what i'm grasping. i am curious to how his interaction with pittoo would go if they ever met?
i'm glad because anyone could easily make the three not much different from their other variations, so it's refreshing to hear that these pits differ from one another.
(omg yeah. the thought of palutena trying to be slick made me laugh. classic pit intimidating palutena into giving him a discount would had been absolutely hilarious. like i could see uprising pit trying to stick up for her (if we're going off her ENG counterpart from uprising) yet is quickly shot down or protected with MnM covering his mouth and cutting him off.)

as simple as they appear, ask blogs are tedious work. it's already hard to keep track of things so it just might be food for thought at that point. i applaud those who could keep one up and running, even more so if they're active with it. i feel you. i'm pretty slow at sketching too and even then when i get finished, if i'm not satisfied, i redraw it.

i for one, will definitely be looking forward to that.

They'll either get along really well, or end up rivaling each other, depending on the scenario. If there's one thing Dark Pit has in common NES Pit, it's that they both take attitude from no one. They want to get the job done, and have no problems calling out bullshit, haha~

(WHOA. I actually had that same idea with those three, no pause on that.
...Except it didn't quite play that way, though. It was some scenario with Hades (whom the first two Pits clearly never met). But Hades, being Hades, pretty much insults and goads at the three Pits and NES Pit just ups and goes off to take a swing at Hades with his bare fists, and the other two try to restrain him. x'D
But I know that Hades will kill my hand with his details, so if I ever recreate the scene as a pic, I'll probably have to opt for a substitute~ )

People who run ask blogs either have a lot of time, or know how to manage it. Or they draw fast. Either way, I agree that those people who run those deserve all the kudos.
//aaahh the struggles. If the sketch took long, then heaven help me with lineart. I swear I can take a whole day with just that alone. And sometimes, it's not until coloring that I noticed some of the lines overlapped each other and a tiny pixel of unerased line was present and I just...!

yes! i would like to imagine that NES pit is much more level-headed than dark pit when it comes to certain situations, even if he is a no-nonsense kind of guy. the more i think about it, the further it sounds like a silly sitcom--well, to me at least. XD

(pfft, yeah. hades' design is just like detail galore and i thought drawing viridi with all of her details was tough.)

yeah. i envy people who could draw fast and still have it look so nice, even being satisfied with their rough sketches. it's like i wonder what kind of magic they're using. i hear you on that one. as someone with shaky hands in general, i have to use a stabilizer tool of sorts for line art and even then if something goes wrong, i redo the part again. and of course, those overlapping lines are a pain too.

they do thankfully. the episode was called "lisa the skeptic" i believe. it's episode eight of season nine.

Funny thing is, I've seen just about some of the most intriguing and interesting ideas in this comment section alone. One of these days, I've gotta draw them out when I have the time~ Just like imagining NES Pit being so proud that his franchise has recently gotten recognition and a rather big following, but then upon playing the game he grows disappointed at what Uprising Pit has become—floor food eater, a suck-up to his goddess, walking victim, etc. (BTW, one other person implied that idea, and it's another one I'll consider drawing x'D ).

(Viridi is close second—in terms of main characters, at least—to hand murder Hades. But I'm willing to draw her as I'm quite fond of misanthropic little flower child~ But yeah, her details suck hence why I have my personal design for her to spare me, lmao )

That actually reminds me of my general disbelief in Tumblr. Odd as it is, most of my posts that rack up so many notes are always the doodles/sketches (or any quick drawings in-between), while art I'm basically proud of and/or put actual effort on doesn't get as much. :'D I never really understood Tumblr, for the most part. Maybe that's one more reason for me to post all my doodles there, since I feel it gets more appreciation than my "actual work," LOL
Also, I feel you on the shaky hands thing. I actually have two different lineart pens simply for that reason alone (well, at least when drawing Yoshi because his nOSE...!). I actually have one pen for all the loose, freehand lineart I'd like, and the other pen has a relatively high stabilizer setting for more specific curves (like Yoshi's nOSE xP ).

i'm so glad to hear that! it's nice when others help fuel ideas, especially for fun scenarios such as the three pits. oh god, that scenario sounds so hilarious yet i can't help but feel sorry for NES pit at the same time. XD to see himself transform into something anyone barely knew about into a kid. this isn't to say that uprising pit isn't cute though (he would be like that dorky little brother)-- i would imagine modern palutena's treatment of him would make NES pit's blood boil.

speaking of silly scenarios, i thought of a silly what-if AU where the reason why they got a newer pit was because by the time uprising came out, NES pit grew up (depending on how people view angels aging, he could either become a mid-to-late teen or early twenties in human years). thankfully his family who is uncreative with names gave birth to a much younger brother being uprising pit. it explains why they're so different, plus part of it is inspired how in my mother's side, two of my aunts share the same first name.

(i can see viridi getting some enjoyment out of pissing him off tbh. she could make a cheesy three stooges joke if she wanted to i don't blame you for redesigning her.)

same here. i uploaded like two rough sketches but even then, those barely got any traction. i guess part of me also thinks that you have to post things at a certain time when more people are active.
nice. i don't have any fancy tablet pens like that so i'm just relying on my basic cheap tablet to be nice with me when it comes to making lines.

I've been so busy this month (understandable, because Christmas shopping and all that junk and family dragging you everywhere x'D ), that I haven't gotten very far in my comics, progress-wise. But hey, I'm a little to halfway in the middle of that KI 31st special mini series, so maybe when that's done or I have a very loose schedule I can doodle those intriguing ideas of those 3 little Pittys~
Ohhhh man, NES Pit would NOT tolerate [English] Uprising Palutena acting like a total slave-driver, much less seeing Uprising Pit take it all like it's nothing.

Wow, that's pretty interesting trivia. o: Oddly enough, in my mother's side, I had my grandma and her sisters share birthdays with each other, despite not really being twins in the sense or coincidentally born on the same day. I've always been told that during my grandma's time, the office that kept all their hospital records burned down, thus my great-grandma (their mom) just had to guess and make two and three of them have the same birthday for less confusion. xP
That's a really interesting take on the KI multiverse where those Pits interact. :'D Funny thing is, I'd had this rather stupid AU where angels in KI are named after whatever dream they had upon waking up, and Palu just reeeaaally sucked at interpreting his dream and just upped and named him "Pit." It was stupid in the sense that it was based off one of my favorite childhood anime, where there were these angelic-looking beings who had names based on the dream they had before being born. x'D

Hence why 99% of my posts in Tumblr are queued, because I tried posting it on my actual time...mostly it didn't work out. xP But lately I've been experimenting with posting/scheduling on certain times, and I think I seem to be getting somewhere when I queue the upload time at around 8-10 AM in my timezone. Problem is, I usually don't get to my computer until much, much later, so I would always schedule those posts with that time frame beforehand. Tumblr's post schedule system can be a blessing~ DA also has the ability to schedule posts (if you're a Premium, at least), but I feel it has less of a point since this site has groups, thus whatever you post here won't really be buried/missed, especially since people watch groups and they'll end up in the notifications regardless.
Ahhh, I didn't mean any "physical" pens, sorry if I didn't phrase it right. ;w; I only really have just the one pen that goes with my tablet. I use Paint Tool SAI for most of my art (though I use Photoshop for instances where I need to type text ), and that one pen for specific curves runs on a high stabilizer level like S-5, while my freehand lineart pen is on a low level like 5. (Though recently, I've been trying other programs like Medibang and Clip Studio.)

that's definitely understandable. the holidays is just one of those things where you spend getting wrapped up in family outings, not to mention getting easily distracted by other things. ooo nice!! definitely. call the centurions because i smell a court case in the works! i can just see NES pit wondering how dense uprising pit actually is since he doesn't seem to ever share his opinion about [ENG] uprising palutena's crap. XD

that's interesting! i don't blame your great-grandmother for making things easier on herself, especially since the hospital records were burnt down. it's not like there's any harm in celebrating three birthdays in one day--doesn't stop us from aging.

it is. i mean if link can have fifty billion incarnations of himself, why not pit? that sounds like a neat AU actually. i guess the dreams were too difficult for palutena to interpret, hence being lazy and going with the name "pit." bonus if these dreams weren't one of those surreal ones. sounds like an interesting anime.

i tend to queue my posts as well, even updating the queue constantly too. i feel it's much easier for me because that website could be pretty stressful at times, then again, i tend to avoid getting involved with those who enjoy getting involved in discourse 24/7. i tend to schedule mine around 8AM-1PM in my time schedule as a means of testing which timeframe is best. i agree with you on dA's scheduling. to me, i feel its handy if you don't want to upload all of your work at the same time. other than that, groups are the better outlet when it comes to showing off your artwork.

nah, it's fine. i misinterpreted it as multiple tablet pens and forget that digital art programs have multiple pen settings, so it was a brainfart on my end. ouo; i use SAI too for most of my work and photoshop to scale/crop it down, sometimes for text too. i tend to use level S 7 when it comes to lineart and sketch with level 3. (how are those programs btw? i heard they're pretty good).

you're good. i tend to be the same way. as a matter of fact, it makes me kinda glad i'm not alone because i enjoy emphasizing myself. i do worry that other people get peeved when i do so but i just can't help it sometimes

I remember saying by the end of November that December was gonna be my busiest month, and I was right. (It's also silly because I did that KI 31st mini series by the start of the month, and I wanted to at least wrap it up throughout December as much as possible because I had a feeling I wouldn't be able to end it by the 19th which was the actual date of the anniversary. I didn't think for a second that I wouldn't be able to finish the series even throughout the entire month due to how loaded I am. x'D ) But since most of the celebration and festivities are done for, I guess maybe(?) I can be able to wrap up the story by the end of January? :'D
I kinda wonder if NES Palutena would be disappointed by the [English] Uprising counterpart. xP I kinda picture her wondering if she'd had a spoiled upbringing or something. 

That anime probably won't appeal to people if they're only in it for action and gripping events. It's more so a "slice of life" anime, slow-paced and the main plot is pretty much exploring the lifestyle of these angelic-looking beings and the only "antagonist" in the story are their inner conflicts with themselves. But the reason why I liked it as a child was because kiddy me stupidly kept referring to them as "angels" (and since I was a little kid, I've always been fascinated by angels...and mermaids; my notebooks were always full of drawings of them ). 
In all seriousness, I do have an AU based off that same anime (I like to call it the Sinbound!Pit AU). It's a body horror-ish AU where Pit's wings get stained by black marks as a result of conflicted feelings he'd been trying to suppress throughout the years. If he's to be cured, he needs to come to terms with those feelings harboring in him, otherwise the black marks will continue to corrupt his wings and he would "fall" and lose his angelic status. (//I'm sorry, I'm so sadistic that I like breaking cinnamon rolls into hardened characters that come to terms with themselves, oops...!)

I seem to think of various scenarios of that anime, but recreated into the KI world. Examples include, yeah, that system where you're named after your dream, but one other silly scenario I thought of based on that anime was Palu forging Pit's laurel crown but it couldn't stick at first so she just tapes in on his head (in that anime, those angel-like beings have their halos forged and if it doesn't stick, they make them wear some special headband until it can float above their heads on its own).  

I'd want to use Paint Tool SAI for realsies instead of having to shift back and forth with Photoshop JUST because of the text and panel layouts, but sadly SAI doesn't have the right shape and text tools. xP (Well, Medibang Paint PRO is a free program, and it's a sister program to FireAlpaca, which was also a free program I used back in the day (Medibang has more customization options, though). 
As for Clip Studio, it's not free, but the lineart game is SO BEAUTIFUL~~! Even at sketching, the lines just seem so smooth that I sometimes can feel proud of my doodles/sketches alone. It's also got a good amount of effect brushes, similar to Photoshop. There are two versions, the PRO (which I have) costs $50, while the Deluxe/EX version is around $200. But the good thing about that program is that every now and then they have a sale that reduces it to 50% off. I managed to take advantage of their summer sale and got it for $25 instead~~ )

you predicted the future correctly! XD silliness aside, i think december's generally a busy month for everyone due to finals coming up, holiday shopping stress, etc. (as much as we want to be on schedule for things, sometimes you just gotta take time to yourself and enjoy life and its endeavors). perhaps but i do say to take all the time you need to work on it.
i can see both NES and GB palutena being disappointed by their ENG uprising counterpart. as a matter of fact, their relationship would just be two moms and the little sister who refuses to grow up and do her job properly.

that's cute! i tend to like slice of life anime because they're cozy for the most part. as much as i enjoy action scenes and whatnot, i prefer video games for that while anime, i tend to like slice of life comedies. (your younger self was onto something there. who doesn't like angels and mermaids?)
poor cinnabun angel... to say i actually like this AU and the entire concept behind it. sometimes we just love a character so much we just have to put them through horrible things. speaking of horrible things, i have a silent hill AU where pit basically takes on the role of alessa gillespie (i had momutena take on harry mason's role) while dark pit took on heather mason's role. if you're familiar with the survival horror series, alessa's mother is the head of some twisted cult who believe alessa is the mother of god. dahlia (her mother) basically abuses her and even burns her.

For now, I've moved any and all updates of that KI 31st anniversary comic in Tumblr for better time management, but once the series starts wrapping up, I'll upload all those pages here in DA, too~ (slowly, tho; I wouldn't want to explode my gallery and people's inboxes by uploading so many pages at one x'D ) Thankfully it's a mini series with not much of a complex plot, so it shouldn't take long to finish.

Even though the only reason that anime appealed to me as a kid was because of their angelic appearance (they have both wings AND a halo), after having recently gotten back to that series last year, the symbolism and conflict present in that story just made it much more appealing to me. What's better was that, unlike Uprising and its massive plot holes, that anime is pretty much open-ended (even the creator admitted it), meaning whatever mysteries and questions left unanswered are completely up to the speculation of the fans. (Haaah, I still do like angels and mermaids; they're such beautiful creatures~ Even though when high school came I was drawn to vampires, the former two still hold a special place~ Now I'm just juggling interest on all three of those concepts, LOL)
Oh man. I always pretty much say, "You know it's a definite sign that Vampi likes a character if she puts them through rather tragic AU's." I pretty much did the same with Super Mario (heck, I have an FC who comes from that specific dystopian timeline). I especially like breaking my favorite characters and the cinnamon roll ones, and they're not even my characters, so heaven help on the things I make my OC's/FC's go through.  
//I kinda just make Pit in that AU in a more so "you gotta suffer for your happy ending" kind of situation; in fact, at one point of that AU he falls into a catatonic state of sorts 
Hmm. I can't say I've heard of Silent Hill, but the cult part really got me. o: And I feel bad for Pit for having to know that Momutena gets burned/abused in there. D:

What's even funnier is that later in the anime one of the characters find out the material used to forge her halo was used by one of them to make donuts, thus the reason why their hair suffered from static cling during the first few episodes. Imagine if Palu used that same thing for whatever purpose; when Pit's laurel crown finally sticks, that explains his mussed-up hair, LOL

(Oh yeah, I think it's called Lazy Nezumi Pro. Many professional artists I know who use Photoshop use that for more stable and smooth lineart. (Unfortunately, it's also not free, LOL; I guess it's a definite sign that it's one of the best if it's not free, haha~ )

that's good to hear. slowly by surely, the story will come together, one page at a time c;

that's nice to hear. (gotta love when that happens. i'm pretty sure there's room for all three of them)
the same could go for me as well, especially if one of my faves wasn't as rounded or interesting in canon. for me, i always use AUs as an excuse to really flesh out characters in general while keeping in mind how they are in canon (i tend to dislike it when people warp a character into something else entirely to the point where they become so unrecognizable). you gotta break the cinnamon rolls--its the only way they will actually develop and grow on their own.
//poor pit. the suffering he must endure to achieve his happy ending
it's the opposite actually (the first SH game is connected with the third one). pit's the one who gets burned actually (what makes it more fucked up is that he was seven at the time) due to the fact that the cult leader wanted to impregnate him with "God" (i'm not one for mpreg but seeing how nuts the cult in the game is, i can see them actually doing this). he splits half of his soul, creating a baby whom is eventually found and raised by palutena ((the character palutena takes over the role of (harry mason) originally had a wife but in this i can see her as being single) she names him pit. the actual pit's name is different). years later, palutena goes to the hellish town because pit convinced her to go here for a vacation spot. to nutshell it, palutena loses pit, goes through inane shit just to learn that pit fused with his original self. palutena goes through more hell and the original pit hands her a newborn child who bears the fused soul of her pit and the original one. now this is where pittoo comes into play. at first, palutena  unsure about raising the baby, and  even considered killing, strangling and abandoning him because she suspected the baby was a reincarnation of original pit, whom was responsible for taking pit away from her. she ultimately decided to forgive original pit and raise the baby. palutena names him pit and then later since the cult is after her, gives him a different name to thwart them off as well as dying the child's hair black.
years later when pittoo (calling him that to not confuse myself since it's already difficult to explain this) is 17, the cult finally finds his location and murders palutena. and shit just gets even more peculiar from there and i haven't thought that far into it so i apologized if this sounds like a jumbled mess.


that would be hilarious. i'm glad that i'm not the only one who sees pit's hair as being bedhead type. just imagine how painful it must be for him to comb it and even then, it resorts back to looking lazy

(most likely. like they say, the good things in life are never free. (also late reply once again because i've obtained super mario odyssey as a gift and been playing it non-stop. of course, i had to imagine the pits in the outfits mario obtains throughout the game)

Yeah, they better start grinding through those levels (and in Uprising Pit's case, Intensity 9 runs with some packed Heart Boosters for extra earnings) if they want to cover up the debt coming their way if they don't stop their grubby little massive hands. x'D Though M'n'M Pit might get a pass since he hasn't really opened the gift box yet. Now Uprising Pit, on the other hand... :'D

Many of the fandom tend to interpret NES Pit as the younger version of Uprising (especially since they actually do recall/acknowledge the events of the original NES Kid Icarus in the Uprising itself). Personally, that works, but at the same time I also like to think they're each from their own little universes, like how the Vampi Universe can have Louie/Pierre/Marianne's timeline while there's also the variation of Damien's timeline.
But yeah, why is Palu trying to charge Pit for getting good weapons when she's already making him do everything? Least she can do is fund his mission, lmao

Apparently the "actual" date of the very first KI game was 12/19/1986, NOT 1987 (yeah, I based the debt off the date :'D ). I guess I mixed the month and day of the Japanese release with the year of North America's release, lmao

Well at least ONE of them, has a chance of getting out of it. Though that'll leave poor Uprising Pit with an even LARGER number to decrease! It's way easier to 'pay something off' when there's more than one person pitching in.

That does make sense...I guess my mind was just jumping to 'game age' rather than actual age. I can see that making sense as well. I mean it's already been proven in Mario and Luigi Paper Jam that the Paper Mario is it's own 'universe' or at the very least 'world'. So I don't see how Alternate Universes couldn't exist in the world of Kid Icarus as well.

I heard many people compare this situation to Professor E. Gadd charging Luigi in Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon...People were like...Okay, so you're CHARGING me, to upgrade my vacuum...Which I'm using to help YOU out...?! Unlike in Smash 4 (but I guess that's justified since I suck at fighting games x'D ), I've actually already done various chapters in Uprising on Intensity 9. I've recently gone through Chapter 12, but I'm replaying all the previous levels on high difficulties before I get to the next one. I seem to have better luck at all the odd-numbered ones insofar.
I've at least done 1,3,5 and 7 in Intensity 9 (though Chapter 9 might take a while since it's got TWO Air Battles, and as a leftie, it's friggin' hard for me Dx ), and Chapter 11 was fairly new, but I've at least got it done on 8. It wasn't much later till I beat the even-numbered ones (in order: 8,10,6 and 2. I shit you not, buddeh. The boss in Chapter 2 is hard. What, even?! //then again, Sakurai planned for the Chapter 2 boss to be the boss at the end of the game, but then the idea was scrapped and they were put in early levels, but seriously?! Who puts a hard boss on Chapter 2?! )
My favorite chapters to grind for hearts are 3, 5 and 7 because they're so easy~ x'D Especially Chapter 3. If you place your Heart Boosters right, you can end the level with 50,000 hearts. :>

But of course Uprising Pit enjoys the cake. He has no problem saying how much he likes it. Too bad it's getting him into trouble.

Oh? So maybe just maybe Uprising Pit DOES have hope of getting rid of that dept! That is very intriuging...The odds are 'easier?' than the evens...

Chapter 2 huh? That kinda reminds me of that jerk move Pokemon Gen 2 made with Whitney.... I DESPISE Miltank because of that freakin' gym battle.... Those moments that game designers decide to take a HUGE difficulty spike, outta nowhere and the players have to suffer through it...But at least in Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal/Remakes we had until the 3rd gym/chapter before it cracked down on us...Chapter 2...That's just cruel...

MC can't get over how a chapter as late as 7 can be so much easier than Chapter 2!

Kinda reminds me of Yoshi (I remember in some of the spin-offs if you talked to Yoshi, when he's 'chilling' out in the background...He'll sometimes talk about wanting food, but is wondering if people would notice if any of it were gone. ), ya love the food, but it sometimes gets ya into trouble!

Of Myths and Monsters was my first Kid Icarus game as well.
(While about a good chunk of the KI fandom started out from Brawl/Uprising Pit, for me GB era Pit was where it's at. )

GBA? Try GB, the original GameBoy. Back in 1991 Myths and Monsters came out, I got it in 1993...second hand, because it had gone out of print, unlike its sister release, Metroid II.

I started, but never finished, a crossover fic with Pit and MegaMan. I made up a handful of new characters, including a brother named Dimitrios who is bad (there was no "Dark Pit" then...ok, there were the clones, Putt, but nobody says much of them), and the Pit of this story had neither the Akira Toriyama inspired hairdo, nor the always visible bicycle shorts, and his bow was just that, a bow, not also a bladed weapon.

Oh yeah, I remember those. But I can't seem to recall where they were in the game due to the nature of sprites, and the limited color palette.
Were the Putts those soldiers wearing what looks like the Silver Armor, and pretty much remain stagnant until you're in their line of sight and they go toward you?

I'll look into it one of these days. x'D Apparently I don't seem to have the time nowadays to read into stuff //I even got some stories people sent me via notes that I have yet to reply to //rip me

But who knows? Maybe one day you'll pick up where you finished with the fanfic and see the story to the end?

I see.

The Putts were in the last level of the game, and yes, they basically had the armor, the laser arrows, and the Pegasus wings. But they were rather easy to dodge and take out (just don't get right in front of them, their arrows are just as quick as yours)

(Yes, Of Myths and Monsters Pit needs a bit more love; he's the Pit all the fans forget, poor angel D:
I know that I mentioned this already, but he's memorable to me due to the fact that Of Myths and Monsters was my first game from the franchise. :> )
