    Kiyomi was raised as a rather fortunate young girl, born the daughter of a business man and a rather popular actress. She was raised in a very rich household and was given much of whatever she wished. However, she often had a great deal expected of her, and had a hard time saying no to what her parents asked of her. They wished for her to pursue a career in entertainment as her mother had, and proved to be an artistic and musical prodigy from a young age. However, her true desire was to become an entomologist. She never admitted this to anyone, however, and kept to herself, continuing to conform not only to her parent's wishes, but also to the wishes of many of her classmates. Her overall giving nature and submissive personality caused her to be a prime target for rather demanding people, allowing her to fall victim to users and abusers. Things began to change for a while after Kiyomi began expanding her horizons, meeting new friends and forming legitimate bonds with others. Unfortunately, time began to change things, and as time moves on, so too do people. In the middle of her middle school career, Kiyomi's parents pulled her from school, and elected to have her tutored from home for a while, as they had a growing concern she was not getting the education she needed. She quickly lost contact with everyone for varying reasons. Kiyomi knew it wasn’t her fault, it was the nature of her life. But she still couldn’t help but feel lost, having lost the only ones who had ever allowed her to be whoever she wanted to be.
    She never stopped moving forward, however, and kept her chin up where she could. As High School approached, Kiyomi fought her parents for the right to return to a public institution, and was eventually allowed to enter Iwatobi upon her second year. It was in this year of High School that Kiyomi seemed to begin to find her place in the world, as the freedom she was granted within the bounds of Iwatobi were new to her. Still, Kiyomi wasn’t sure where she was headed in life, still forced to bear the weight of her parent’s dreams on her shoulders. Because of this, she was forced to dedicate all of her time to her studies and her music and dance. Still searching for a solid place to stand in the world, Kiyomi had no idea what was to come, and how it would end up changing everything for her.

  Having suffered what felt like years of solitude, Kiyomi is forced to confront her past. After a chance encounter, Kiyomi recalls a special feeling, one she hadn’t felt in a long time: a sense of understanding. It is here and now that Kiyomi begins her long battle with her fears and reservations, owning up as she is forced to confront the idea of paving a path of her own and forging bonds she never knew she could have as she gains the courage to open up to others.

  Having grown a significant amount since her chance encounter the year before, Kiyomi has truly begun to fly her colors. Kiyomi finally and officially joins the swim club after approaching some trusted faces, ready to take her life by it’s reigns as she attempts to form real and true friendships she was once deprived of. However, Kiyomi’s battles are not yet done, as the girl is forced to face her biggest challenge yet: escaping the expectations of her parents and the future they want for her. Its here or now, in the final year of High School, that Kiyomi has to decide for herself who she is, not who her parents want her to be, as she struggles to gain the confidence to stand up for herself.

A successful escape from her insecurities and the understanding of her parents have officially released Kiyomi from the shackles of her expectations. Now free from these binds, she is forced to decide where to go from here as she begins her pursuits in Medical Science with a minor pursuit in Music. But is she actually and truly free from these expectations?

    Personality

In a nutshell: little but fierce
    A cheerful and bubbly sort of person, Kiyomi is easy to pick out of a crowd due to her warm personality, positive vibe and accepting nature. At first glance, it’s easy to see she cares a great deal about the people around her, and that she holds any friendships she comes to form in the highest esteem. She makes it a point to take care of everyone left under her care, regardless of the task, and is extremely diligent when it comes to her friends. It is also often noted that her manners are close near perfect, and her respectful attitude being very reputable, likely due to the expectations laid by her parents and their influence. Kiyomi is also noted to be exceptionally talented at the piano, dancing, and singing, a prodigy even, as some have noted. Unfortunately, it is because of similar reason that it is evident Kiyomi suffers from self-esteem issues, often succumbing to peer pressure due to her desire to please others. This has led her to some rather questionable friendships. However, while the girl on the outside seems to be the picture of poise, kindness, and perfection, another side of Kiyomi lies beneath the skin she is forced to wear for appearance sake.
                Those who grow close to Kiyomi will note that, while Kiyomi really is the kind and compassionate woman she presents herself as, she is much more outspoken, blunt, assertive and even domineering among her friends. She shows a level of sarcasm, excitableness, hot temperdness, and even impish behavior that might be seen as forign to the Kiyomi they first met. She doesn’t necessarily mean any harm by this behavior, of course. Rather the opposite, as she believes that a harder attitude can attribute to greater success, and that being more open as she is means she’s growing closer to others who are more willing to let her be her own person. She has a tendency to try and seize control of situations she fears are out of he control due to her upbringing, and the fear of falling into other’s shadows, or when she fears others may be hurt by the results of a situation. This, in part, plays to her obsessive need for organization, as the girl rarely enjoys leaving anything out of order. She seems to have a system for everything, and has a powerful need for everything to be in its place, less she lose her mind due to her inability to keep control over situations. It’s also been noted she can be a tad materialistic, which is no surprise to others, given her upbringing.
    It is only with her friends that she feels comfortable letting down her guard, and revealing the confused and even scared girl she actually is, unsure of who she is in life, or where she’s meant to go. It is very obvious to her friends that Kiyomi can be very lost and stressed about the things in her life, and that, even if she tries to be confident and strong, she has little confidence in herself. She becomes considerably more confident and blunt upon entering her 3rd year of High School as a result of finally being able to freely fly her colors around a group of friends with whom she feels secure.
