As someone who is doing his time in this particular kind of hell, here's some tips.
1) Never underestimate the power of studying right before tests.
2) Intelligence gathering is a must, make networks, know of important stuff that's happening 'round the campus.
3) Learn how to distill lectures into their most important points, and record them in an easy-to-remember way.
Well, it's what I've learned studying Computer Science, and Indonesian college is kinda harder than yours, so I figures you'll be better off than me.
Keep these points in mind, they'll be a lifesaver.

If it makes you feel better I was a black belt and when I tried to break a 1inch board of wood for the whte belts as an example I sprained my hand and broke my pinky (I fail!!!)
