Description Dexterity, agility and power. A good balance for 3 lovely Sphere Hunters!

I felt like drawing the ladies Yuna, Rikku and Paine

It's made out of the original Final Fantasy X-2 logo for studying dynamic poses and still it's full of mistakes by making the details (not enough references) but it turned out well.

Even if FF X-2 was a bit too girly to me it was still not that a bad FF X sequel. I enjoyed it! (and I spent a lot of time in the Zarnakand Ruins ... just to listen to the amazing background music)
And Rikku is such a sweet Al Bhed girl" x'D

I like the color division here, it fits their personalities, I feel.

Yuna, Rikku and... Oh my, it's time to start the X-2, I finished Final Fantasy X not so much time ago, my first FF game!

I keep this deviation in background for this day

Yep, the three ladies Yuna, Rikku and the new ally. Paine is her name ^^

I can tell, the sequel will be quite girly. So beware male gamers

But wait ... you really played through FF X? Or just watching Let's Plays?
How awesome! I've got plenty of questions right now

Okay I prepare myself

Played together with my gf, I assured the boss battles and her the road between locations XD

Ahah, you're free to speak with me, what are your questions ?

Azurelly In reply to SpringsTS [2017-12-08 22:34:13 +0000 UTC]

Sure But there are still pretty moments, too ^^

Ah, okay then. That's also a good way to play together a game like this ^^

Ooh, I need to keep it brief. But there are just general questions

- So what was your impression to this game?
(first, it was a good choice to play X first and even if I can't remember anything I liked going back to the isle of Besaid. Just to listen to the music and enjoy the paradise-like setting x'D)

- Did you get used to understand the language of the Al Bhed?

- And? Did you see some of the funny Cactuars!

It's our "ritual" of each Sunday evening, the last moment of the week-end, an aperitif with a video-game on the TV ^^

Ahah, let's got

_ I have a general good impression of the game. It confirmed that the turn-per-turn battle gameplay is not my favorite one (I mean fighting the bosses was great, but I didn't like browsing the map just to repeat little battle in order to increase stats during hours to be able to progress in the game), however the story was very interesting, and the characters very appealing
I don't regret at all and want to try the other ones now x)
Speaking about musics, indeed someones are very good to hear. I precise that I played with the remastered and not the original ones.

_ We found the 26 manuals
But since I played with someone who already knew the game, it was much easier

_ Indeed, my gf unlocked the way to their village, but I was a little sad, I thought I would see plenty of them in it

Aww, that's quite a sweet ritual ^^

- Ah good to know that you had a good impression on it ^^ (I guess I'd be in total horror if I'd praise anything I totally like and then the person don't like it >.>)
But anyways, it is the little disadvantage of turn-based RPGs but you'll get used to it after a while. But yeah, it is typical from the Final Fantasy games (from I to X) Real time action battles came after Final Fantasy XII, XIII and especially XV (FF IX and XIV is obvious having real time battles since they're online RPGs)
Aww yeah, I like the cast of X, too ^^
I heard about the remastered version. It's a good choice as well
And? Did you find your favourite Aeon so far? (you know the powerful creatures you can summon)

- Good to know

- well, I can remember that Cactuars are very shy creatures and mostly run away if you encounter them. But you still shouldn't mess with them or else, they'll beat you down with their 1000 Needles attack
If I may spoil around. I might to remember that you'll encounter more Cactuars in X-2

Thank you ^^

- It's not a problem my friend, you and us can't resist to our biggest passions, it's normal you speak often about FF, how many times did I mentioned Minecraft just for example?
The concept allows the players to think to a strategy, and at the difference of some games where you can "pause" the combat to "instantly" regain health from potions for exemple, here all your choices has a price to pay and you have to deal with the consequences.
It's more the repetition of the events that tends to bore me with time, I don't like doing always the same for too long. I can stay on one game/activity for long but not an eternity. At the worst I just take a pause
Hmm, as often, my favorite one is the first you met in the game (Valefor), it has the more symbolism in the game ^^
Funny, in French version the term Aeon is translated into Chimère, literally Chimera. Not the same meaning.

- Exactly, it's hard to get them all, and the saving system was useful for this task

Azurelly In reply to SpringsTS [2017-12-18 21:49:53 +0000 UTC]

No problem at all ^^

- Yes it is. But my problem is just that I cannot appear convincingly enough towards to people But you're right. It is just normal to speak things we like so passionately.
Indeed, and including the disabled auto-save system it is very important to prepare your stuff and save your stats. It can happen at any time that you'll be ambushed and probably need to do it again (that's why I'm quite a notoric healer. I always used healing magic and potions to keep my crew healthy for the next steps)
Hmm, that's kinda understandable, if repetitive events can bore after a while However (I know I shouldn't refer this case to myself) to me I shared games with my siblings where we took a lot of time together of this one game before we started off with a new game. This and due to my stubborness I always wanted to know where all the hidden secrets are That's the reason why I can have still much fun sticking in one game for a long time.

Aaah, Valefor. Good choice. I often consider this summon as Yuna's Summon I don't have a clear clue why but I feel, that some summoners in FF has at least one creature, having a kind of a "special bond" between the Summoner and its summon. And this shows between Valefor and Yuna (at least I'm thinking it) ^^

Oh, that's something interesting about different translations.
In German Aeon we've got the foreign word "Äon" which means enerally the Time or the Eternity. Sometimes it'll be translated just Divinity or Deity
Although, speaking about deities. Some Sommons in Final Fantasy got inspired from actual gods

SpringsTS In reply to Azurelly [2017-12-19 20:55:41 +0000 UTC]

You appear as passionate!
Indeed, you're right, that's also my way to play, always having the max healing items/sorts, because I just can't continue with low health because "and if..."
Nah, it's good, if I like the game I can play for hours to find every secret and explorer each m² too
In this case it's a choice from me, not an obligation of the game to continue. Only myself to blame
And that's why I single player games are better for me, usually my friends and relatives lost the interest in the game a lot sooner than me and I finish alone, which on a multi-player game is quite hard for continuing...

Very true, in cinematics it's always Valefor that she summons. Moreover it's the first Aeon we got in the game. The first is always a stronger symbol.
I share your thought, that's why the almost final fight when you have to defeat all the Aeons was... sentimentally speaking, very hard
Like Dumbledore said in he first Harry Potter, you need courage to fight and defeat your enemies, but you need a lot more to fight and defeat your friends.

The meaning is the same in English too, but a chimère in French has nothing too see, the word describe either a unnatural mix between two or more thing that should not be compatible (like the mythological creatures), either an illusion, an unreachable and impossible dream. Why this translation?
Really? Not surprising though ^^

Azurelly In reply to SpringsTS [2017-12-19 21:28:18 +0000 UTC]

Well, then it's good ^^
I made the mistake not to heal and then ... I got ambushed. I learnt my lesson x'D
That's strangely the fun I enjoy. I can be quite an explorer
If I think about ... the game collection I had with my siblings contains about 80% of single player games It was a good alternative to a movie we watched together while the other was playing

Aww, don't tell that. I felt so sorry on that moment I realized you'll lost your summons forever on this title.
It's so true

Well, I cannot say a concrete clue I really needed to research for this question

Indeed, one of the best examples would Shiva. Beside of being one of the 6 most famous summons  (and there are a lot of different summons) the Shiva in FF will be considered as beautiful woman with ice-blue skin color.
In the real world the Shiva is one of the 3 main gods of the Hindu. Strangely represented as male god but also having a blue skin.
Another example would be Ifrit. Often in the FF-titles this creature will be named as the "Flame-Djinn" and indeed, in some scripts of the Arabic mythology Ifrit (or Afrit) will be described as a Djinn from the fire, too.

Exactly. And if (hello Skyrim), you have problems with autosave and that the game reloads you 1 hour ago... Squirrel gets mads

I understand the success of game streams with Twitch for example. I understand less the reactions of people who call that stupid, while looking at someone playing a game is not more stupid than looking at people playing football... No difference!

Heartless monsters

Oh, you teach me something today.
And it's not the first time that a male name is used for a female creature and vice-versa, I don't know why
I should look deeper in the different mythologies of the world, it's a very interesting topic

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Azurelly In reply to SpringsTS [2018-01-02 21:29:41 +0000 UTC]

Ah I can imagine. The gamers nowadays are ... getting pampered a lot with this autosaving
But you exactly said it. Once you forgot saving your file, playing long and then something will happen which you lost

Hmm, I don't understand it either. I can use the universal explanation that there are some people who just got bored and telling anything is stupid :\

Referring to this question I might have a clue - but only on the direction of Final Fantasy
Let's take on Shiva again. Often in the description in the FF-universe Shiva will be considered as "Ice Queen". Maybe because it sounds and looks better than an Ice King. Maybe it's also referred out from Andersen's fiction "The Snow Queen". You know, a pale or even blue skinned lady, beautiful but having an ice-cold heart.
But these are my thoughts though.
I'm sure that the developers where researching a lot while developing their characters and themes.
And indeed, I noticed they got inspired a lot. Different locations, divine entities, time ages and scenery. Everything is well-thought.

But still, I agree with you. In the games there are hidden topics which makes it more interesting to look at

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SpringsTS In reply to Azurelly [2018-01-14 08:08:22 +0000 UTC]

There are both pros and cons for autosaving, that can help you a lot no restarting a big part of the game/level but you lose the control of your saves and if you don't pay attention you can replace a specific save you wanted to keep...

Haters gonna hate I guess, maybe there's no more too look for

Probably. One more thing when creating a content for all the world is the difficulty to take references that either everybody can understand, either that can be missed by the people without incident for the game comprehension. And can attire the more curious ones
