"The first lesson a revolutionary must learn is that he is a doomed man." ― Huey P. Newton
Name: Akira DeLeon
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Height: 5'7"
Division: Muggle Affairs
To say the least, Akira is not the most capable wizard: though his textbook knowledge is impeccable, his spell-casting leaves a lot to be desired. His magic can only be described as wholly humanitarian and defensive in nature; his heart has never been in casting any sort of spell that would harm another witch or wizard. He absolutely cannot duel or conjure offensive spells: it nearly like it is his soul itself that cannot.
For this reason, he has made a name for himself in Muggle Affairs in recent years for his astounding penchant for muggle diplomacy, and his creative approaches to situations, as he manages them non-violently (and often in the ridiculous ways that only muggles might understand). His honest, non-glory seeking, humble methods of resolution and investigative work have landed him uniquely in a spot with the Ministry that allows him and his strange tendencies to be advantageous where most Aurors would observe as weakness. Akira does not mind the common perception by his peers that he is a sub-par wizard, fit only for domesticity and paperwork: he rather likes paperwork. Armed with a simple, cherry wood wand and a magical but mundane-looking motorbike, he handles many small cases with maxiumum efficiency.Personality:
Serious
He doesn't smile at anything, even if he's feeling particularly happy, the smile never quite gets to his face. He doesn't seem to joke around much, though, he can have random moments of silliness. It's hard to tell since he usually seems angry in his delivery.
Sheltered
Aki doesn't know how bad some people are, and doesn't really know a whole lot about money , never having to have lived in poverty himself. He can come off as a little ignorant when it comes to the plight of others, especially when it has to deal with their personal struggles and anxieties, though he has never berated someone for their physical or material worth.
Bright
He is quick on his feet, both mentally and physically, and is a fast learner. He doesn't have any issues with cognitive problems or puzzles, or anything that might take some brain-power...
Trusting
... but he is not street-wise, and will fall for lies and sob-stories, and can be easily guilted-- though he will handle your issues the way he sees fit and can sniff out inconsistencies in a story. If you ask him to trust you as a show of good faith or give you the benefit of the doubt, though, you've got him. He doesn't believe anyone would set out wanting to hurt someone else.
Peaceful
"... I am a naysayer and hatchetman in the fight against violence. I pride myself in taking a punch and I'll gladly take another because I choose to live my life in the company of Gandhi and King. My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love." - Twin Peaks
Ill-Tempered
Despite his buddhist and pacifistic efforts, his peace-making is hard won. Aki has a poor temper, naturally, though he has taken many precautions to keep it in check-- he is an endless textbook of breathing excercises, communication strategies and getting in touch with your feelings.
Backstory:
Akira is the biggest disappointment to dark wizard and pureblood community, having come from a prestigious family who proudly claim both. His father a powerful dark wizard, his mother from a rigorously pureblooded family, the likelihood of having a son who could not possibly subscribe to either ideology was truly an act of karma. Despite clear disagreements with his family, Akira grew up wealthy, and engrossed in school: his temper would lead him to many athletic outlets, and he would find himself joining the Hufflepuff Quidditch team upon his transfer to Hogwarts from Mahoutokoro. The popularity that would come with being a star Quidditch player would feed into a common vice in Akira's life: women. And, sometimes men. He would often be the center of a jealous feud, and has left many broken hearts in his wake, some more familiar to the ministry than others.
Even after graduating with exemplary grades, a common obstacle in Akira's life would be his abysmal performance at dueling and spell-casting. There are many who might claim that he was able to skirt over this to jump-start his Ministry career perhaps due to the powerful influence of his family (or, more popularly, illicit affairs with the old wizards on the commitee. Akira, not wanting to be rude, has posited that they were not that old). In any case, he was able at least to land a job that was mostly paperwork at first: however, initiative is not something Akira lacks, and soon enough he was taking care of small tasks and helping out on cases that more capable Aurors did not have the attention for, and thus his induction into Muggle Affairs was more than appropriate. These days, he spends most of his time organizing, optimizing, and flirting with almost every woman in his department: perhaps a wise decision to avoid the jealous ire of a real Auror.
Misc.:
➵ An equal opportunist, through and through! Aki doesn't mind pursuing men or women.
➵ He talks. A lot. Far too much.
➵ He fences! Very well. In fact, Aki blows off a lot of steam with sports. He sort of dabbles in everything, but fencing has kept his attention for a long time, and he's gotten good at it!
➵ Aki really likes sweets. Pretty much any kind of sweet. He orders extra caramel extra whip extra everything fraps at Wizard Starbucks.
➵ He strongly believes and aligns himself with Marxist ideals.
➵ There is a certain someone at the Ministry he particularly has his eye on. An interest that is more than a fling is very rare for him-- who could it be?
