Description A new large commission, 11x15", ink and gouache on watercolor paper.

This is Sharon from Guy Davis' BAKER STREET, one of the greatest independent comics of all time. Baker Street was a kind of update on the Sherlock Holmes universe, set in an alternate future London, in and around the hovels and clubs of the punk movement. Sharon was the Holmes analog.

The collections are getting harder to find, but are very much worth seeking out, especially volume 2, "Children of the Night". With pencils and inks by Guy Davis, and lettering and ink assists by Vince Locke, it's a veritable how-to for creating atmosphere in black & white comics; it's my Bible in that respect

This takes me back to the original Vampire: the Masquerade core book. Your illustrations were instrumental in getting me hooked on that game, btw. Great work, as always.

Ha! Thanks

I still have a few pieces from that series sitting 'round the studio. Much of it is sold, and White Wolf never sent a great deal of it back to me (I lost a lot of my favourites that way).

Perhaps I'll scan in a few and post them here, for old times' sake...

Man what a great comic book series Baker Street was back in the day. I never got the collections, but I have a pile of the old issues. Man, just you mentioning "Half Price Books" (above) makes me miss Columbus BAD. One of the greatest inventions ever, a used bookstore chain!! You'd be amazed, there is nothing like that in Southern California. To this day some of my favorite books have "Half Price Books" stickers inside them and make me miss that place. Anyway, great drawing Andy. A great tribute to a great comic.

Thanks Bryan! It was nice to get a request from someone who wanted me to draw it; it's always nice to know I'm not the only one who enjoyed Baker Street

I don't get out to Half Price Books often enough...

Oh yes, you do. I think I found my volume 2 collection finally at half Price Books, of all places. They are just inspirational.

Thanks, Steve!

Cool! I would love to have a half price near my house, or even a regular book store, or a comic shop. Oh well, at least I save money!

So is Guy ever going to finish the series?

I doubt he'll ever come back to it. I was kind of finished... enough...
