The Columbus Comics Creators Coalition held a benefit event during Columbus' monthly "Gallery Hop" at What The Rock, a rock-n-roll boutique in the Short North arts district, just outside of downtown Columbus. Dozens of prizes were donated for a raffle, and several Columbus-arrea comics artists created original art in the shoppe, all to benefit the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.

I figured I should do something rock-n-roll oriented, rather than another comics-themed piece, so this was my entry, created in about an hour, and raffled off that very evening. Ziggy Stardust, 11x14", ink on watercolor paper with white accents. Taken with my phone; forgive the image quality. The type around the edge is an excerpt of the lyrics from the song of the same name:

Screwed-up eyes and screwed-down hairdo
Like a cat from Japan
He could lick 'em by smiling
He could leave 'em to hang
He took it all too far
But boy, could he play guitar
