I liked Kidd even more after learning more about them ^^ The history solidified their status as LEGEND.

Yeah same. Actually went looking for more things about them in history afterwards. Too bad there's a lacking in information. Although, this probably made it much more easier for Ubisoft to create the background they did, without clashing too much with the known historical events in that person's timeline.Β

Yeah, in a way it's good. I kinda wish they fudged the history a little and instead decided 'Hey, they could both escape and we could have the bad guys lie out of shame that two pirates escaped them after the huge trial' but then Edward wouldn't have developed into a better person and it would have thrown the whole ending out of whack. It's a shame they didn't show Kidd and Bonny fighting off the navy, would have been a great scene.

Yeah, I mean they could, there are some things that suggest Kidd could have escaped, along with Anne, and lived out there lives. But there was more evidence against that, so they did what they did to make it accurate.
But it was really sad that it took that accuracy to make Edward a better person, and the fact he was selfish until that point, he probably feels like a right git.
Oh I would've loved to have seen it, but alas, wouldn't have made sense considering Creed's about memories, and Edward wasn't there to see it, so. (Although, showing the part where Kidd and Anne are talking to each other, just before they joined up was good enough, in the sense that we at least get an idea of why those two ended up in prison together.)

That's what's painful. Kidd HAD to die. And it hurt Edward, clearly, and in that moment he realizes how stupid he was and just how many people he hurt and pushed away, and how many friends he lost. I think in this game, the Templars win, in a twisted way.

Yeah. It was.
Hell, you could tell how much it hurt him. With Thatch, he was just numb (judging by use of music, and lack of/muffled SFX), but after Kidd, he drunk himself silly. It was pretty heart breaking. So many friends gone at that point.
Hm, yeah, I mean, it really seemed like the Templars had all the king's men on their side, manipulating them, but even though they managed to get to the Observatory, they didn't claim it, since the Assassin's locked it up again. (Although, back to modern day, Templars win again, haha)
Edward had his ending, but man, those deaths must weigh on him.

I think the only reason he didn't stay in that stupor of drunkenness was Kidd's final request and for Jennifer, the Templars even outright said in the Observatory that they won, there was NO ONE left to stand by Edward, which, in a way, is defeat. The Assassins kinda rely on their network of information and friends to gain leads and to expand, if there is no one he can trust, there is no one to help him.Β

Yeah, true, the whole thing of Kidd saying "change your bloody course before it's too late" and then him crashing into that island, which, if you try to turn right around from, still ends up being your last destination, it was a very powerful dream.

Templars and Assassins both. I mean, in the first game, the whole game is about why AltaΓ―r shouldn't be selfish, and do his own thing since it can and did endanger the brotherhood. Edward was all about personal gain, but as soon as he changed his mind, and tried to help the assassins as thing for Kidd, he starts taking a little on about the creed, and starts understanding it.
Templars find their own power by having 'agents' of their order everywhere and as big in theΒ hierarchyΒ of that place as they can, to pull strings.

All in all, a kick in the gut, but a powerful moment, kinda healed by Bonny's song, but at the same time, making it hurt all the more.Β
They need to get a little 'WARNING' tag for stuff like this so people can choose to view it or not.

Nah, I though 'Kick butt, openly female pirate who held off the navy with Kidd and an unnamed sailor? EPIC.' ^^ Personal opinions of course, and a lovely song, it hurt to read up on it and in what times it was sung, the age of pirates was truly over.

Hm, for such an old song, it's pretty great that it's still known today (Much like Mary and Anne, even though their life of piracy was rather short before the pirate hunters got them, they're still as 'famous female pirates').

They were the only two convicted of piracy in the golden age, correct? And yes it is great to know these songs continue to remain to this day, I knew some elder people from Scotland, I wonder if they ever sung The Parting Glass... ^^ Such an interesting way to learn of history... Though poor Blackbeard might lose his spot as 'Favourite Pirate' to Mary!
