Description PHASed Energy Rectification, though from a physics standpoint even this is of equal semantic content—ordinary incoherent light is not "rectified", or synchronous, whereas lasing and masing emissions are rectified, or synchronous. Phasers release a beam of fictional subatomic particles called "rapid nadions", which are then refracted ("rectified") through superconducting crystals. Given the nature of photons the first acronym seems more accurate. The Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual indicates that the superconducting crystals used in phasers are called fushigi no umi (Japanese for "sea of mystery" This was an homage to the 1990  series Fushigi no Umi no Nadia, known in North America as Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water. The phasers that appeared in the 2009 reboot Star Trek appear similar to classic phasers, but fire "bolts" of energy instead of sustained beams, and seem to only have two settings, stun and kill. The barrel of the weapon is two-sided, and the user must literally rotate to a different output in order to use a different setting. It is not known whether or not that type of phaser has adjustable power output. A similar change was seen in the starship-mounted phaser banks, which also fire bolts instead of beams.

Utilized primarily in defensive situations, the phaser type-1 had several applications, from use as a weapon to use as a cutting tool, explosive device, or energy source. Storing considerable energy, most phasers were distinguished by a roughly pistol or gun-type configuration, firing a focused energy discharge in the form of a beam or steady stream.

Power settings: Capable of a full range of Phaser power setting from Level 1 through 10.
Level 01: Light Stun
Level 02: Medium Stun
Level 03: Heavy Stun
Level 04: Thermal Effect, low level burns and thermal blistering of humanoids and structures.
Level 05: Thermal Effect, deep level burns on humanoids. Personnel force fields penetrated after 5 seconds of contact.
Level 06: Disruption Effect, deep level burns and lacerations. Medium depth penetration.
Level 07: Disruption Effect, primary humanoids termination power setting. Immediate cessation of life functions.
Level 08: Disruption Effect, organic/humanoid tissues vaporize.
Level 09: Disruption Effect, light & medium alloys and ceramics suffer structural damage.
Level 10: Disruption Effect, heavy alloys suffer structural damage. Light & medium alloys and ceramic suffer extensive damage.

Nice design. But I don't see the Federation pursuing US way of dealing with civilian weapons.

And clearly I don't see legal civilian weapons able to destroy shuttles

I didn't remembered that episode.

But yeah weapons happen to have been used not only by civilians in UE but also in the Federation. It is just  not clear if it is sport weapons (hunting has faded out according to Riker vegan stance, as meat is only replicated.... I am sure Sisko's father would disagree. ) or more like US regulation.

Cool.....Another Original Phaser Weapon Design. Like your other original design work on your other original phaser weapon designs.....Nice Job!
