Hey, thank you!
try blocking out your action with storyboards, and then do a rough pass with an animatic. Show it around to a few people, see if they understand whatβs going on. If they seem confused but something, ask yourself how you can clarify an action or sequence of events.
Also, look into how you can build up tension, both in short term (the wind-up to the powerful action like a punch) and over the course of the whole scene (pauses, escalating stakes...)
Then just practice a lot and develop a healthy self-criticism.

Right, the whole thing could definitely use some cleaning up, or at least some greater line consistency; but my greatest fear in adding sound is that I wouldn't know how to go about it and I'd end up giving everything a tacky "boing" or "swish" sound effect.

Wooooh... pretty brilliant!! I liked all of it... the comedy, the bizarre bits, the backwards blinking "FIGHT", the family pictures, the little trail of skull-n-crossbones... this is a great little short subject! I'd really like to see it cleaned up, or at least given sound.

i liked the part where the "fight" was backwards for the fish guy..
