Actually the fandom sorta hypes KawoShin stuff... Kaworu only actually shows up for one episode in the TV series and a bit in the End of Evangelion and I know some people have trouble getting attached to his character and to the pairing... mostly because he's introduced so quickly and there's not a lot given about him? And interactions between Shinji and him seem like only fan service.
But when you read interviews and articles on NGE that elaborate on his character and their relationship... THAT'S where the ruining starts to happen. Kawoshin is basically the flagship pairing in NGE, it's actually so canon it hurts.
I still haven't seen 3.0 but apparently it's loaded with KawoShin goodness and my heart is not ready LMAO I WILL NEVER BE READY...
