Description Beautiful Luna Moth I found on one of my deck posts. The posts actual measurement is 3.5 inches by 3.5 inches, the moth is somewhat larger than the post is across. That should make it nearly 5 inches across at it widest part.

Do you get a lot?? I've never seen one that nice looking and up close before. I never noticed the hair and twig like stems above the wings. Very nice photo-

No. I've only seen a very few, this one was around on the deck for 2 days then disappeared.

Thank you Alice. There are all kinds of amazing creatures crawling around if you take the time to look closely. This one though, I didn't have to look for, it was directly in front of me and 5 inches across. Hard to miss.

I'm not sure but you may have them there. This one was staring me in the face when I opened the door, had it been in the tree leaves it would have practically disappeared. So, keep your eyes open, they may be there.
