Description likes his super-heroines in trouble and commissioned some cool scenarios of She Hulk captured. Basically the same sort of idea but from different angles and different poses. This was cool 'cos it gave me a chance to work on foreshortening and different areas of anatomy. This one in particular took me ages to get the foreshortened arms right.

Drawing is onto A4 Bristol Board using magic marker, watercolour pencil, fineliner pen, white pen and chalk. I also thought it'd be cool to jump on the bandwagon and throw in the evolution of the pic, i.e. pencil, inks and colours.

Oh yeah, just for good measure, She Hulk is owned by Marvel comics etc.

Yes mate, very much so. I think I got into Invincible pretty much based on his artwork. I started collecting the trade paperbacks and think his style has got better and better as they've gone on.

Cool, yeah it was fun drawing a 'foreshortened ass' like that legitimately! It kinda makes it justifiable that it's such a provocative pose.

I've still got one more She Hulk pic to do to cap off the 5. Andrewr255 was kind enough to let me post these as I'd got 'em done and 'cos I hadn't posted in a while!

Yeah, I didn't now how 'tough-lookin' to make the cables. Was hoping most folk would believe they were super strong cables! Glad you like the legs, they're my favourite bit too!

Thanks dude, very kind and glad you like it. I try hard to get things like feet right as I think a lot of artists either cover 'em up or just draw points at the end of the legs! So I'm glad you noticed the feet, cheers!

Heh, I never really thought of 'em as bondage but now that you mention it, I guess it kinda is to a degree. It's funny 'cos I guess as artists we all have our different 'lines we won't cross' - like I won't do hermaphroditism or sex scenes and feel a bit hypocritical now 'cos I never looked at these as being 'bondage'. In defense though, there's quite a lot of stuff like this in the comics so...

No defense needed Rob. My likes as a viewer is the demonstrations of female muscularity or power. I have no interest in viewing females being in positions of helplessness or appearing weak. There's enough of that on Prime Time TV.
As an artist, you have an obligation to the client to draw what they want, and as long as the commission doesn't overtly cross the line of your own personal ethics, than its all good. It's that bondage just doesn't appeal to me, and yes it's the main theme in the old Wonder Woman comic books and other comic books. Keep up your great art, and we'll keep watching.

Yeah but only a little. I think that sometimes it's sexier to draw a gal in a provocative position but not necessarily naked.
