Character from my story.

An ancient robotic being created to guard the gates to the Grand Royal Archive – the holiest part of the Sacred City. A billion years had passed after the city’s abandonment, and the Archives had all emptied and decayed since then – but the Gatekeeper still stands there, among the ruins, keep on to perform their faithful duty.

A glowing orb above the hand is the “core” of the creature, and normally it should be embedded deep within Archive’s halls. Everything else can freely reform and regenerate – but only as long as the core remains intact.
