Description
Numerous lands of Assembly are connected primarily through the self-replicating web of wormholes , whose entrances typically take a form of wide portal gateways. The structure this web is that of a branching pattern – with paths spreading mostly from a center of the world to its periphery. In practice, it usually means that any large city will have one central portal reaching “inwards”, and a few portals around it reaching “outwards”, with some of them being dead-ends and some leading to different cities with their own portals.
But as you go closer to center, such clear structure becomes progressively more tangled – with different branches overlapping with each other and additional, manually placed wormhole pathways.
As a result, most of the cities in the so called “Inner Circle ” of Assembly are absolutely bristled with portals to all possible locations – and natives usually take a full advantage of it when designing infrastructure. Residential buildings, railways and industrial facilities that span multiple planets by the virtue of these gates are the common sight in these parts.
