I have not the power to change my past, but I do have the power to change my future; to change my destiny; to rewrite fate as it were. For I am not a mere puppet of the gods. I am not an inanimate toy of fate. I am animate. I have life flowing through my veins, oh so sweet life. I feel love. I feel hate, scorn. I feel the sadness of those around me, but I am not marked by this! I am my own demon, my own puppeteer; I write my own destiny, not my peers, not the gods, not the fates or the muses; me. All evil inside of me is manifest of me, and all good in me is of the same stuff. I travel the road less traveled. I go my own way. No longer am I to be one of many, I am one of one! I stand alone in this world if I must.

I am my own master. I need naught but what I myself can provide. Paid for by my sweat, my tears, and my blood. I will not sit idle as millions starve, I will not accept a hand up when so many more need help. What of them? What of the poor, the wretched, the huddled masses upon those far shores? Where is their hand up? Where is their food? It would seem you wish to give me a hand up only to take control of my strings. Though if I am no puppet of the gods, how then do you propose to tug on my strings? Do you suggest that you are mightier than the gods themselves? Or are you just self absorbed and narcissistic? So narcissistic that you put yourself on a pedestal above all else, but me thinks it is you who needs the hand up. You have fallen so low you believe to have climbed to the top. Maybe you could learn a thing or two from what I said above.

I have the power to change my future. I am not immortal in flesh, but maybe, just maybe if I car pei diem, I can leave an immortal mark upon this world. I cannot tell you your future, what I do know is that you can tell yourself, so long as you wish to write your own destiny. Seize the day! Write your own story. Live not as a mere pauper, slave to the rules! Live as a king!
