That background was so much fun. After being in and around the ocean for a week, I'm already starting to miss it!

ThiscameoutsowellICANNOTTAKEIT omg. That angle must have been a bitch to do omfg. But IT CAME OUT SO WELL. It doesn't detract away from the character at all even though she's not even FACING you! That takes skillz, man! The effect the pencil sketch gives it too never ceases to please me. It all looks so much more organic and awesome and everything omg. Plus I do so love the way you do water. It's so BLUE and pretty and everything and WOW! . Plus the character's so furry and gorgeous and THE BLUE EYE IS BLUE OMFG. That has to be my favorite part. SUCH a pretty job!

Thanks! Nope, I've been doing water like this for ages - just look back through my gallery and you'll see a lot of pieces where I've used the same technique.

I wouldn't want to live by the coast, I don't think. But I do miss the place I've just been staying in for a week.

I love my bit of the coast because there is a wonderful hiking trail that is kept up year-round, and every mile is different. It goes from rolling grassy hills to redwood forests to rocky cliffs all in the span of one hike. Best of all it loops back to the highway every three or so miles, and that combined with the fact that they whole ocean is off to one side makes it practically impossible to get lost XD The only bad thing is that it's literally right on a subduction zone, and we're due for a major earthquake any decade now
