Ah, yes .... packaged ramen is good too, but nowhere near as good as the fresh stuff. I highly recommend finding your closest ramen shop & trying one out.

Ooooh... sky's the limit and you can mix & match whatever you like, really -- roast chicken, roast pork, shaved ham, chopped up cooked bacon, green onion, nori, roasted sesame seeds, egg, veggies..... I could go on & on like the dude in Forrest Gump.

*goes to look up what nori is lol*

Nori is the black thing they use to wrap sushi with. You can buy it in big square sheets & cut it up or buy it already cut up. ::

What is the recipe for this, exactly? It has a super-nice look indeed !

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bandoodie In reply to WalterMB [2010-10-07 05:21:28 +0000 UTC]

Sorry, I don't know the exact recipe -- noodle shop secrets, probably -- but they do make their own broth (probably pork base with white miso added -- not as salty as the powdery stuff in ramen packages) and the noodles were fresh made (not dehydrated like Top Ramen). As for the toppings, it's bbq pork slices, kimchi, nori, green onions, and salty boiled egg (it's been marinated in soy sauce).

The kimchi was super spicy -- I was sweating afterwards.
