Nothing makes you appreciate having a roof over your head more than the elements trying to get in. Also, I really love the angle you drew them in, it's not exactly common that someone draws ponies in a way that you can appreciate the full presence of their bodies, it is very natural looking.

It's probably why so many try to avoid it. But I am glad you tried it and in my opinion you succeeded wonderfully. You also didn't try and "include" both characters by making sure we could see rarities face which I think other people might have been tempted to. This and other factors make the final product feel very natural and believable, more enjoyable as a result.
