I love catbirds! I always eagerly await their arrival each spring, and am sad in the autumn when it becomes apparent that they are gone. They are such inquisitive creatures! Often at lunchtime, one perches in the shrub outside the dining room window and peers in as if to see what I am having to eat today. They seem quite fearless!

Quite a few have mentioned how bold they are, but I haven't seen that so much. They are very watchful, but keep well hidden most of the time as far as I've noticed. And I never see them near the house, even though I have feeders.... You must have a friendly one...

They have no fear of people. Many times I have gotten within two feet of them

Not me, most of the time they are near but hidden in the leaves. The exception was when I found a nest with babies. They kept feeding them even though I was near enough for some pretty good shots. Eventually they got used to me.
