Kudos for figuring it out! I know how hard moth identification can be based upon several attempts last summer. There aren't even any comprehensive books for reference... probably because there are so many varieties.

They are mostly very similar too. Mushrooms are hard too. I don't usually bother identifying those unless there is something distinctive about them.

If only someone would write a comprehensive guide. One for moths and one for mushrooms.

I think there is quite a lot available on line but most of them assume you at least know where to start! The link I put up has a fairly good browsing feature. You select something to key on, I picked white wings, and you can browse from there. I got a lot more than just white wings so it took awhile but at least I found it eventually...
